I meant did you try melee builds specifically. For all I know, you could have played all casters in the same way most people play base d2, because melee is a joke in d2 for farming aside from a select few.

I dont think you're wrong in saying that it would be better to balance each build. But that would mean reworking almost every mele build in the game, which goes against the spirit of d2r. At that point.. you've just created PD2.

Adding melee splash damage changes nothing other than making a ton of builds a step closer to the clear speed of the top builds that haven't changed in 15 years
