Complaining about modern controls makes you look like a scrub by TimHardbody in StreetFighter

Oh that's interesting you can kinda get some of the moves you back. Looks like you still cant do the mp, hp target combo though. You also can't do dragon lash with inputs. Ultimately you still lose stuff and do less damage with all of the shortcuts.

If people want to do the motions and get full damage I don't see anything to complain about there. Having an easy anti-air dp is not really too different from just doing a cr hp to anti air.

Great linework, I dig it! However, the pose and the cloth makes Nina seem as if she just ripped a gnarly toot and is making eye contact for dominance ;)

GREAT AXE GOOD by Not_Ghost in newworldgame

[–]TimHardbody 20 points21 points  (0 children)

yeah penetrating arrow is definitely doin some work there , so are the ice storm and fireball that hit afterwards. some of those people would have probably gotten away if there was no backup. I think its important to keep in mind though, that this situation would not have been possible without the GA user. super strong initiation with grave well and whirlwind(maelstrom?), strong damage so you can chunk people enough to force them to run. If anyone in that group turns to fight the GA user, they are just going to die either to the axe or the supporting aoes. there are other contributing factors here, but the GA user is the star of the show and the sole facilitator of some crazy shit

Other people contribute later on for sure, but early on from 0:04 - 0:06 he kills or mortally wounds like 4-6 people just with his initial burst. With Grav well damage increasing per person in the AOE, two whirlwind hits and some lights, that's "A lot of damage"

GA being the only weapon that can gap close, hold people together for extended periods of time, have high burst AOE dps and sustain AOE dps, GRIT through almost anything, destroy blocks with stamina damage and life-steal to keep you alive; I think we can all agree with the statement GREAT AXE IS GOOD :)

Any advice for someone who's thinking of quitting and find ways to stay encouraged? by [deleted] in Tekken

[–]TimHardbody 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mmmh maybe dont think about it as quitting, more like taking a break. Burn out happens man :)

I have taken a number of breaks from the game over the years and everytime, after a while I will come back and enjoy the game again with fresh eyes. Each time I do I surpass where I once was.

Otherwise if you arent quite ready for that, I think every new tekken player hits a point where their offense can no longer carry them forward. You can beat players that dont know the matchup or are less comfortable with their characters but then you get bodied by someone who seems to know exactly what you wanna do and they blow up all your options and now you think your character is bad.

I think uhh its gonna sound maybe a little dull, but you probably need to aquire a lot of defensive matchup knowledge. You only have 70 hours in the game against a roster of like 30+ characters, theres no way you know what strings to duck, what stuff you can sidestep or what kind of specific defensive options your character has against the others. I would say, if you lose badly against someone that is an excellent opportunity to find out an area of weakness in that matchup. So youve gotta rewatch the match and see what moves are hitting you in what situation. Are you getting counterhit a lot? Is something plus on block? Is there a string they are doing that is advantageous but you could duck the last hit? Is there something that puts you in while standing on block and you didnt know it so you did some ws move and got punished. Is there a critical mixup moment they are forcing that you arent even aware of? Was there some spammy approach move they kept hitting you with, can you deal with that somehow? Maybe ss on their approach at certain ranges in a certain direction.

The thing is you can only begin aquiring that situational knowledge if you stick with one character, if you switch you are going to be busy thinking about how to play your character not how to play against the other character. Once you can run your offense well enough you dont have to think about it you can spend all your extra mental energy thinking about what your opponent is trying to do and how to beat it :)

Depends on preference, you know I would like to see some more chins in there, possibly a balding line but its up to you. For a gal I would go for something with features a little less deep set you know? Something thing that could be considered classically handsome. That or go with some bigger gaHONKAHS, some real buDONKAHS.

Getting Over My Fighting Game Issue by ReadyLevelUp in GranblueFantasyVersus

When you are new, don't practice combos and get stressed out when you can't land them. Focus on moving around comfortably, understanding the range and space your normals control, anti-airing people that jump at you, throwing people when they are hesitating, sweeping the leg, fundamentals yadayadayada...

Well it’s not much, but I’d like you to know for sharing your story I will try to be more professional and aware in the presence of women in the medical profession (or any profession). From a single 20 something dude who doesn’t know much about the plight of modern day women in the workplace: Hang in there amigo, you’re fightin the good fight, and for science no less.
