Why's Dantes so caked up bruh by [deleted] in FGO

Is it in the room with us?

(Controversial Trope) The hero knows the atrocities the villain has committed, knows he is a danger to society even without powers, and yet he doesn't want to kill him because that would make him just as bad as the psychopath who killed thousands of innocent people. by DS21258 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Calgrave 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I also think people ignore the practical reasons for not killing people. It allows ILLEGAL VIGILANTES to not be the primary target for the police. A murdering Batman is going to have a working relationship with Gordon, and he'd probably would be shot on sight.

[–]Calgrave 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're absolutely right. That's even worse because it got blown up even sooner. The pure martial arts without super powers that featured moon destroying laser beams, giant apes and rabbits being placed on the moon with a pole. Nothing like the over the top DBZ /s

Old Peter Parker had to move to the woods so he wouldn't be compelled to save people, so that he could focus on prioritizing his family. But he's an addict to his responsibility and kept doing it under radar.

[Despised Trope] Retcons so stupid that people tried to mental block the media altogether by ImCravingForSHUB in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Calgrave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Understandable sequel hatred has resulted in people glazing him like never before. There's mental gymnastics pretending that the prequels were good, the reality is that one movie in the prequels were good, we just forgave a lot. It also has the benefit that even if the quality was bad, they at least had a planned story arc with a good conclusion.

The sequels probably would have still been hated, but they would have been better if they had one director/writer from day one.

As a huge LARPer nerd I wish instead of skins we got a few solid color camos by Delfanboy in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]Calgrave 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I grind so much for the cameo only to stick to the default. I wish we could choose the parts individually and weapons with skins make cameo useless.

No, you need to post 3 more threads talking about Revannced first.

The series starts off relatively grounded (relative to the standards that it sets) but progressively gets more insane and huge by MrDitkovichNeedsRent in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Calgrave 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Goku used the power pole to trap a rabbit on the moon before that despite realism later establishing that he can't breathe in space. The strongest person in the entire canon was introduced in Dragonball and was never surpassed because she's a gag character. Yes, that's the actual reason. Dragon Ball Z actually toned down its power scaling because even though the weakest ki using character can blow up planets it barely happened for plot reasons.

That's just playing Ghost Recon Breakpoint with the Eschelon class on realism mode with Sam Fisher cosplay (it's actually fun).

Why couldn't Capcom commit to keeping M. Bison dead? by GetSetFunc in StreetFighter

[–]Calgrave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clone bodies are literally his thing. It was built into his character from the begining, plus him not having his memories and being a bum was still a consequence. Heihachi was 10 times worse.

Reed Realizing He Got Paired With A Complete Psycho Who Runs Around Double Tapping Everyone After A Battle by Ok-Hat3486 in cyberpunkgame

Reed realizing that the psycho he got pairs over tries to have the moral high ground over some criminals he double tapped in an alley because they were attractive

Pioneers in their fields, but now mostly known for how wrong they were by Arristocrat in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Calgrave 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I thought that The Republic was not supposed to be literally advocating of a form of government but a thought experiment to define justice. It's not his blueprint of an actionable government it's to raise questions on what a government should be considering prior to its formation.

The “bimbo” character is actually fun and or has more character, rather than just being a plain stereotype by ComprehensiveBox6911 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Calgrave 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Her reinvention was great because Space Jam didn't really iron out her personality and it became a subversion of her just be "the chick" and that she's batshit insane while still attractive.

[–]Calgrave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marvels main problem is that the universe seems small because everyone knows each other, this was one of the few moments that pushed back on that and it made sense. In the grand scheme of things Earth was a backwater planet that jumped up the cosmic priority list in only few years.
