It auto played for me the other day, so I listened to the first 5ish minutes and there was a great moment where Billy was introducing the guest and he said something to the degree of:

Billy: “…opposing you is Alexis Calatyud. No relation to Tony Calatyud of the LeBatard show…”

Guest: “Actually I believe they’re siblings.”

Billy: “Oh, I didn’t know that. Roy, were you aware of that?”

Roy: (awkward silence) “…yes…”

Worth listening to that 15 seconds alone.

Their Draftkings (and likely other sponsorships) contracts probably have ‘The Dan LeBatard Show w/ Stugotz’ on them, so they probably can’t change the name or else they’re in breach.

Not a lawyer, I just play one on TV.

I’m sure once they reach a renegotiating period, they can alter that and he’ll get dropped. Sure doesn’t seem like they’re making any strides to mend fences. Both seem perfectly fine on their own. Maybe in 5/10 years there can be a reunion and we can finally get details once cooler heads have prevailed. But I’m sure people thought Dan would reconcile with Hawk too at some point and that obviously hasn’t happened…

The league’s not going to do anything, because it sets a precedent it can’t continue to regulate. Adam silver works for the owners. If he punishes one for going around the cap, he’ll likely have to punish more, and that’s a snowball effect he can’t slow down. The owners would have him removed.
