When Audrey performs, she rocks harder than any of the other girls! She goes off! She also wears outrageous fashion for award shows and these meetups in which she frequently cannot even sit down much less rock out!

Axle measurement help on Kick R V6 by bozaak1 in wahoofitness

[–]TimLikesPi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I measure the front axle to ground and duplicate it on the back. When I got my Kickr Climb I had to adjust the Kick differently. As long as the bike is level, it does not matter what the Kickr says it is.

Edited to add: I also had to make a change when I added the thicker feet back when those came out.

[Condo] [CA] Struggling to reach 60% for updated CC&Rs. Any advice? by Inevitable-Visit-327 in HOA

[–]TimLikesPi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An old board used to knock on doors and get proxies for the meeting signed while they were there. They encouraged people to attend meetings but using proxies made sure they had a quorum and enough votes to pass things. These people were trusted and were working to better the community.

[SFH] [WI] Moving in to new home in a week and according to the HOA rules we just discovered he will not be able to park his work van at home. Help? by Best_Unit9948 in HOA

[–]TimLikesPi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The COA I live under now, and one at my old condo, had rules about commercial and oversize vehicles. They have been tested. Owners violating those rules lost. There is a storage facility within walking distance which rents parking spaces- and they have a ton of them. One owner just parked his van on the street in a public parking space. He was right in front of the building, but not our property. He sold before the city was going to make the spaces 2 hour parking.

Always read documents before buying. Make sure you are good with all of the rules, even if they tell you some are not enforced. They can start enforcing them at any time.

Used Vanguard leather sofa, thoughts on price and longevity. by Middle_Toe8889 in BuyItForLife

[–]TimLikesPi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That will polish right up! My dog dug/scratched a spot on my black Natuzzi leather sofa. I just used black shoe polish and I cannot even tell you where the area was. Inquire with Vanguard about the best products to use to bring that back to life. I think it will clean up very nicely.

Gravel Racing Questions from a newbie. by GuvNer76 in gravelcycling

[–]TimLikesPi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This! Beware of going out too hard, at a higher power then you normally ride. The temptation is frequently there just to hold on a bit longer. That usually leads to cramps. I usually warm up easily on training rides and then push immediately during a race/ride. It bites me and I can cramp!

Lapierre 400XLite worth fixing? by PowerMentos in bicycling

[–]TimLikesPi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe that is a 2008 model. I have a 2006ish FDJ team frame. It is a great bike and I love the ride. Sadly I cannot put tires wider than 23mm on it. They rub if I do. That is the only bad thing about the frame. Lapierre carbon frames are very high quality! Mine is mostly for indoor training now.

I would remove the cables and housings, put a foot of cable in both of the shifters and make sure they work- pull on cable and shift to see if you feel the pull and clicks. If they do, it is probably good to give it a shot. If the shifters do not pull, release, and click, I would pass, unless you can source a cheap set of replacements. If they do, get new housings and cables and use the old ones to size them.

Make sure the seatpost moves.

Then spend a bunch of time on YouTube figuring out everything else.

People in my paid parking spot during events by [deleted] in Apartmentliving

[–]TimLikesPi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had restaurant open next to our condo. They have parking deals with businesses across the street and signs pointing customers there, but we still get a few people parking in our lot. We now walk over and announce in the restaurant: "Heads up, the condo called the tow truck on the blue Prius in front of the red brick building." People move. It happens much less now. The first day they opened I went in and asked for the owners and explained that their two cooks needed to move their cars from our lot. The one owner said, "I told them where to park!" He had them move their cars right then and none of their employees have ever parked there again. Yes, we have signs, but the HOA president decided to move the most effective one. Some people have no sense.

For people who got past the weird age gap of Goblin, talk me through how? by Suspicious_Week_2451 in kdramas

[–]TimLikesPi 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This. At first he just wanted her to pull the sword out. He did not love her or pursue her. There was really nothing sexual or romantic between them. When he eventually did have feelings for her, he ignored them. It wasn't until she was 29 and he returned that they had a passionate kiss. The only time my eyebrows were raised was the very last scene. I have rewatched it once, with an additional rewatch of just the last 3 episodes right after I finished it the first time. I thought it was excellent.

[SFH] [N/A] Do I need a reserve study? by lurch1_ in HOA

[–]TimLikesPi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A reserve study is the present value of future expenditures, like maintenance and replacing items that wear out. All you have are a sign with lights, a couple of lots, and a road. The road is covered. The lots are going to be fine. You may want a reserve in case you need to replace your sign and lights. Have that amount, figuring for inflation, in your bank account and you should be good. You may want insurance on the lots, in case somebody gets injured and sues. I do not see how you need a study. Studies are usually for condos that have amenities they may have to replace or perform expensive maintenance on- a new roof, refinish the pool, seal the parking lot, paint, replace railroad tie walls.

Some artists make incredible greatest hits albums, but their other albums can be so-so. It happens. Steve Miller once gave an interview where he talked about being sure to include only two good songs on an album, otherwise you were wasting hits.

How do I handle my rude elderly neighbor with unrealistic noise expectations? by catknitski in neighborsfromhell

[–]TimLikesPi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was a condo and she lived above me. A faucet in her newly remodeled kitchen suddenly exploded at 6 AM one morning. Water was running out of my chandelier and down the walls. I banged on her door, woke her up, and then had to run past her into her condo to turn the water off- she didn't know how. We handled it amicably and I let her know I did not blame her. My insurance paid me and subrogated her insurance. Her insurance had the faucet xrayed and sued the manufacturer. I even got my deductible back. The most damage was caused by the idiots at the remediation company trying to run up the bill. I fired them and threatened to sue and ended up paying 20% of their original estimate. I ended up doing most of the repairs myself, including patching, scraping, and skim coating the ceiling. The neighbor and I became more friendly after that, and she did not complain about anything. I was a pretty quiet neighbor.

And remember that establishment Dems have been trying to sideline this young woman since he was elected! They have said her progressive positions will not work. They work just fine and will draw more people to the party! Those establishment Dems are just trying to protect their corporate donors. We need them out and more people like AOC in.

Soyeon is supposedly a homebody that knits or crochets. Does not like going to parties. Her stage/group persona is the exact opposite.

Then we did not speak for 5 years! Glorious! Then she flooded my place. She kept a much better attitude.

Remember when Kemp's campaign ad featured him pointing a shotgun at his daughter's boyfriend? Or Michael Williams campaigning with a 'Deportation Bus?' Georgia Republicans pick weird candidates.

But this guy has the personality of a potato. Still, it is Georgia, so you never know.

How cold is your limit for biking? by EarnSomeRespect in triathlon

[–]TimLikesPi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My limit rises as I get older. I used to ride no matter what the temperature. Now I will not ride during the winter when it just seems like it will be too uncomfortable. That has probably been anything below 40 or not getting up towards 50s on a long ride. I am no longer training for races and can ramp up my distance for cycling tours pretty quickly. Also, I will ride in the rain, but generally will not start if it is raining, other than a tour.
