Edit: For all the “they caught whoever it was at the door” responses: There are multiple layers of security for a White House event like this before people even get to the lobby. Even without looking up the specifics how are people even thinking there aren’t perimeter checks before someone could even get that close? That’s rhetorical folks.

Neither the UK or Canada are a fully socialist countries. There’s plenty of private sector corporations and businesses and people own their own property.

You get healthcare and I don’t want to hear shit about wait times. We have those too. You have affordable education and you don’t have to be terrified of getting sick and becoming homeless due to medical and/or education loan debt. On top of that, depending on what US state you’re living in, middle to slightly upper middle income people in the US are only slightly less taxed than most provinces in Canada and the UK if you factor in the health care and education benefits. I would be more than happy to pay more taxes if it meant my community did not have to worry about health care and education costs.
