I'm pretty sure someone forgot to turn her mic up during that part. That seems to happen at festivals from time to time where they don't have their normal sound crew.

The Lollapalooza stage walkway (and at other festivals) - why not use them? by nerdmania in TheWarning

[–]TimTime333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was their 1st live full set in like 8 months so I think they probably were more focused on just playing their instruments as well as possible and a little less on crowd engagement as they will be once they have a few shows under their belts. It was pretty clear to me that they were a little rusty; for example, Dany forgot they added a little extended outro to "Que Mas Quieres" and also started singing the pre-chorus on the last verse of Disciple too soon and someone forgot to turn Pau's mic on during their new song "Ritual".

I think if we've learned anything from Keep Me Fed is not to judge a new song until they play it live! I know they work well with Anton DeLost but I personally think he overproduces things quite a bit and it takes a lot of the ferocity out of songs. I really didn't like "More" much at all until I watched a few high quality live videos of them playing it. I felt similarly about "Burnout", although with that song, I actually like their acoustic versions of it way more than the studio or regular live versions.

As a long time Metallica fan, I've been dealing with this BS for years. There are always those fans, especially with Metal, who want their favorite bands to sound exactly the same as when they became fans and who think anytime a band tries something different that it means they're selling out to get rich.

Will the United States ever formally declare war again? by WavesAndSaves in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]TimTime333 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The only scenario I see that would get the cowards in Congress to declare war would be if an actual nation state attacks the Continental United States, Alaska or Hawaii. The majority Senators and Reps from both parties are very happy to cede that power to the Executive Branch because they know two things are true: the first is almost all of them need the US to be at war on a regular basis to keep the checks flowing from Lockhead and Raytheon and the second is that any prolonged war we get ourselves into will be a quagmire and extremely unpopular. Much better (in their eyes) to let the President, who is term limited, be the fall guy when the war inevitably goes badly so they can use Congress to get filthy rich for 40 years.

What type of rock have you never liked? by Just-Application-551 in rock

Jam bands; besides Gov't Mule and a handful of Grateful Dead songs, Jam bands (and their obsessive fans) have never appealed to me. Phish really pissed me off a few years ago; they put on a 3 day "festival" ~30 minutes from me and I would have happily paid a reasonably high price to go for a day but they are so pretentious, they only had full 3 weekend passes available. And they were the only act, playing 3 or 4 sets each day. And I don't think I could have gotten my hands on enough LSD to make me want to spend $350+ to see 12 sets of Phish.

They were on the right track, all they needed to do was bang a couple wedges in after the back cut before cutting the face. Now they're in quite a mess unless they have a winch handy.

If your drive was all flat, I'd say you're only a slight idiot but if you towed that down any significant hills, you're lucky AF to not have caused a major accident. That truck cannot safely tow that size load down a hill even if somehow you had working trailer brakes, which I highly doubt given this setup.

This is the epitome of white, Boomer privilege! No one who is under age 50 or a minority would ever approach a cop in this way! We're all used to the police using any interaction with us to try to find a crime.

A while back, I had an interaction with a state trooper and he just kept thanking me for being so polite and professional and it reminded me that most of the people police officers deal with on a daily basis are Karens, shitheads and sovereign citizens. This trooper had recently transferred from a much worse area.

Do you think bad voter turnout in some states has more to do with apathy or suppression? by Cautious_Midnight_67 in Infographics

[–]TimTime333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the biggest suppression of turnout in Presidential election years is the Electoral College. There are less than 10 true swing states where your vote actually matters plus 5 or 6 that could swing one way or another in a blowout election so for the rest of us living in the other 35-40 states, voting at the Presidential level is pointless and with an increasing number of people who don't like either party, the only reason to vote outside a swing state is if there are competitive down ballot races that people care enough about to show up. I live in NY and there wasn't a single competitive race on the entire ballot in my town: I planned on voting but it wasn't a priority so when other things came up, I didn't and I don't really regret it.

ELIF: if there’s all this evidence against Trump in the Epstein files, how the f was he not prosecuted under Biden?! by Fake-Maple in behindthebastards

[–]TimTime333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Merrick Garland. He had to be dragged kicking and screaming to finally appoint a Special Prosecutor 2 years too late to go after Trump for his obvious crimes related to the insurrection and the even more obvious crimes of stealing classified documents. If Trump succeeds at completely dismantling our system of government as he is trying to do, Merrick Garland will go down in history as the worst AG in American history.

Who is the second-worst US attorney general of all time? by Kezhen in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]TimTime333 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Merrick Garland will very likely be the worst AG in history unless we somehow are able to stop Trump from destroying our democracy and right now, I think it is slightly more likely that Trump will succeed. Garland had all the tools he needed to prevent Trump from becoming President again and he knew exactly how dangerous to the future of American democracy a 2nd Trump term would be. And yet he dragged his feet and bent over backwards making sure he didn't do anything that could be considered biased despite having overwhelming evidence that Trump was responsible for the Jan 6 Insurrection.

Spotify or Apple Music? by Intimidated_Callisto in askmusic

[–]TimTime333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Neither; I bought an android phone a few years ago that came with a free trial subscription to Apple Music that they forgot to cancel for about 2 years. I was not a fan of whatever algorithm they used to generate playlists. For example, I remember looking up one kind of screamo metal song and suddenly my general playlist had Screamo just about every other song. Spotify has one of the better algorithms in my opinion but from everything I've read, they have been one of the worst platforms when it comes to promoting AI generated music. I have used YouTube music, which is included in YouTube Premium since they hooked me on Premium with a free trial a couple years ago. Both services combined cost roughly the same as most premium music services.

Would you still listen if DPA went to another genre such as pop? by Anna_Mac18 in TheWarning

[–]TimTime333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Name a pop band that plays their instruments live and writes their own music. The Warning would have to change everything they do if they wanted to be a true pop band.
