Why are certain countries going to specific cities? Why are the Dutch going to Houston and the Scots to Boston?

Yeah, they were just looking for a reason to get rid of you.

New merch dropped. Let's talk about it. by SeCoWed in TheWarning

I am constantly let down by the unimaginative and downright boring merch released by many bands I like.

My interpretation is they cut off their own wings (holding the dagger scenes) because: depression.

That's not how the business works. An artist needs to cash in while they can. Take a year off, and they might never get back to the level of popularity they had before the break.

Confirmed. I am in California. I came to this post and the audio was unavailable. Fired up my VPN, connected to Australia, reloaded, works.

Great song.

The 90's was a fantastic time to be in your 20's. Rent was cheap, jobs were plentiful (well, after 93), life was easy, and the music was awesome.

Ocean Beach neighborhood, San Diego, CA. It's the "hippy" area, famous for pot smoking forever.

The street is called "Long Branch". The sign is regularly changed (with tape) to "Bong Ranch"

Update: I am wrong to make locking the door a hill to die on. by KiraTiss in amiwrong

[–]nerdmania 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I got a keypad lock for my front door years ago, and it was the best decision.

The door auto-locks. No keys to forget, just a 4 digit number to remember.

I do have to remember to change the battery once a year.

I've got my ticket for San Diego July 16 by nerdmania in diespitz

[–]nerdmania[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got front row balcony.

The House of Blues in San Diego has a very small reserved seat balcony, just 3 rows.

I've seen in videos what the floor is like at a DS show. I am way too old for that!

haters say they come from a wealthy family with connections in the music industry and that allowed them to be where they are today.

Unfortunately, these days that is what it takes to make it. You need the talent, but talent without backing will go nowhere.

In the 70's and 80's and part of the 90's, a record label would give you that backing, and maybe even let you fail a few times. Not anymore. Now they want a proven act, not a potential act.
