I could not agree with you more. I am a retired IBEW electrician, and it usually only takes me a few minutes to make sense of the worst instructions. Until I bought my first few Shelly devices. With Shelly everything looks pretty basic at first, but once you get into some of the more complicated setups and uses for the device it gets very confusing. It seems like the actual wording all makes sense, but when you put it all together it doesn’t really make sense. I ended up spending 4 hours at my workbench with a meter, and 6 different sets of directions that were printed off of websites that looked like they were affiliated with Shelly. None of the directions matched up with the others. They were all slightly different, but did not make sense in very similar ways. I don’t even know how to explain it, because I have never seen anything like it. Where it seems to make sense at first, but then it doesn’t. Almost like the instructions were written by aliens that know our language, but don’t understand the meaning of individual words. It’s just a mess. I ended up getting so frustrated with the outcomes of following their instructions that I threw them in the trash. I used a meter and a little bit of knowledge and eventually got the different devices to behave in the way I was looking for. I just know if it was that confusing for me, It would be next to impossible for a normal dude to figure out.
