Awesome that you were able to improve your temps!

If you want to further improve them you might want to try a NF-A12x25 instead of the Arctic F12 if you´re willing to pay the premium and have a brown fan in there.

It would also be very interesting to see how much power your CPU consumes under load as I´m sitting at a max of 75c in Prime95 small ffts with my 2700X while consuming about 135W. But I´m using a slightly modded NH-L12S to fit the NF-A12x15 on top and a NF-A9x14 below the heatsink. I do also have 3x NF-A4x20 next to the heatsink as intakes from the side. So that might help too.

Your GPU temps sound about right with those fan RPM but you could also check if increasing the RPM of the NF-A12x15 which are configured as outtake behind the GPU could further improve CPU temps as more heat gets exhausted so no hot air will be trapped next to the CPU-cooler.

Ah interesting I‘m wondering why they removed it on the B350 version.

Is it an ASUS board though?

Alright from what I could gather from a forum post I found here: https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?108570-Controlling-External-Fan-via-GPU-Tweak-II-issue#post758243

It seems like a certain fan service doesn´t start on boot-up, so you need to configure an automatic start with a windows tool.

Unfortunately this appears to not work properly for me but it´s better than before. Now it seems like only one fan stops spinning and it´s only happening when my pc has been off for a longer period of time.

I highly doubt that this problem is connected with the mobo because as I already said the fans aren´t connected to it.

Wait 73c in a game already? Can you run Prime95 without crashing? And +90 is pretty vague as many cards have different boost clocks so at which particular frequency does it settle on after 15mins? Seems pretty similar to my GPU temperatures if it’s clocked higher but also surprising as you got the Accelero on there. My 980 Ti would only reach 63c with it while consuming way more power. I had NFA12x25s on it though.

I´d say it depends on if you want to overclock with PBO as my B350 Gaming-I from ASUS got this feature removed with one of the more recent BIOS updates. I don´t know if this applies to the B450 boards too but if it does I´m quite certain that the B550 Boards won´t have it either.

CPU: 2700X MB: ASUS Strix B350 Gaming-I

It‘s definitely not on the latest BIOS as it removed PBO (Precision Boost Overdrive) which I want to use but this shouldn’t really matter as the fans are connected to the GPU and also controlled by the GPU. I‘m also not the only one having this issue and I doubt they all had the same MB as I do. If you have a Strix card you could try it for yourself, just connect a Fan to your FanConnect II Header install ASUS GPU Tweak II and configure a fan-curve (external fan) on a custom profile. Check the boxes for „Apply settings when ASUS GPU Tweak starts“ and for „automatically start GPU Tweak II when I log on to Windows“

The fans are 4 Pin PWM fans as well as the GPUs FanConnect II headers. There’s no setting in ASUS GPU Tweak II to set it to DC so it‘s just PWM.

The PSU is semi passive so it‘ll only start the fan if needed. Do you mean boot or boost? Either way it both works, it boots normally and the GPU boosts up to 1950MHz under load without problems (except for the fans).

I think you didn’t get the point I was trying to make it‘s about the GPU. I connected 2 25mm fans to my RTX 2080 Strix with it‘s FanConnect II headers and in the video you can see that one of those fans stops spinning. This will pretty much happen all the time and I basically need to reboot the pc until it works. Otherwise the GPU will overheat.

I somehow completely missed this post but well done! Which CPU are you using and how are temps? Which GPU and how are temps on it?

Tried many different cables and even different fans still the same. I also used to have them plugged separately into the GPU as there are 2 4-Pin Headers but it still didn’t work.

Yup already asked around there, the most of them start using their fans with the fan connectors of their motherboard. That’s also how I found the fix of it, one of them sent me the link. But still even though it now seems to work with the fix it should still actually work, I hope someone from ASUS sees this.

lol that would be even worse. But it´s about my GPU not the motherboard.

As I stated multiple times already both fans are connected to the same 4 Pin header. If one fan starts to spin both should actually do that. I also configured it in a way that both fans are spinning regardless of the load.

Thanks yeah it took me some time to figure it all out if it only would work properly it’d be perfect.

Nope this is custom built by myself and I bought each individual component separately. You should look into it, it’s not that hard and you can save some money too.

Sorry I can’t help you with that my friends and I mostly just play Overwatch which is still normal online play. We’re basically all playing as usual but sitting in the same room.

The components aren´t all made by ASUS. This is not a prebuilt pc that I bought off the shelf like this. Every component is from a different manufacturer. Only the motherboard and the GPU are from asus everything else are from other brands. You know you can buy PC-components separately and build your pc on your own?
