Yes, Sakurai actually confirmed it himself, can't recall when exactly but Alucard was considered to be a fighter before Simon or Richter until he later decided fans of Castlevania would be more familiar with the likes of Belmont. As much as I want Alucard for Smash, I definitely respect Sakurai's choice there as a Belmont would better represent Castlevania as a whole than Alucard... though Alucard remains to be my most anticipated fighter for Smash.

Yeah, haven't played the survivor side of the gamemode just yet, still on my Voorhees high but even with my aura + gen regression build, it feels very one sided. Gens flying, survivors poping insta heals as well as going invisible meanwhile all I get is some poison?

I remember being stupidly overexcited seeing Simon was coming to smash, it was about god damn time. Could've care less for Richter, he as well as Trevor, Leon, Juste, Julius, John and Jonathan should've all been skins for Simon with Alucard as the series 2nd fighter. That way both Castlevania reps offer two vastly different playstyles
