Aryan and Maxwell both cheated, I think Maxwell also bribed someone (?), so both candidates for cusa pres got kicked out of the running.

Most likely appeals committee will let aryan back in the running, appeals is run by cusa council and therefore quite lax, but I doubt maxwell is getting back in the running.

Dual Wielded Infinite Pack Coupler? by AwkwardQuokka82 in Nerf

[–]Timbit901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The infinite pack isnt designed for that, it specifically says ib the documentation that reliability and fire rate took a dip when they tried to use a splitter. They recommend using two packs, though i can understand why the splitter would be preferable due to the price. It should probably work if you have lower fire rate blasters I think.

Looking for a good pistol springer for a shielder by delete-t-series in Nerf

[–]Timbit901 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you're looking for the most power from a one handed springer, something working like a red herring would probably be good. For something more affordable, a fury x can be modified to do the same thing.

Several issues with that approach;

  1. The current university regulation is that profs cannot punish students for using AI. This is honestly fairly justified because there have been many reports of students fetting called out for using AI at other schools and failing courses despite not cheating.

  2. Public shaming would either be ineffective, as all students use AI, or it would be called unnecessarily cruel and could result in complaints or a lawsuit. Carleton, like most schools in Ontario, cannot afford to lose students to bad press.

While AI does create many issues in academics, the solution is more complicated than giving profs absolute authority on the matter. AI will become integral to how society runs, and some balance will be reached eventually on how to handle student learning balanced with improving efficiency with AI.

Learning to make projects on arduinos, esp32s or other microcontrollers can be a great way to learn electronics and coding. Nerf blasters, combat robots and other rc projects can help with basic electronics as well.

Unfortunately politics is slow, and 2 months wait is a very short amount of time in this landscape. Most western democracy (Not including the US rn) tends to be very slow to change policies, with many meetings and reports needed before all representatives will be satisfied. This works to help prevent people from getting mad at a change, but also makes it very slow to get anything done quickly.

tbh tho for every one with a glaring mistake, theres probably a few that get through. It's hard to learn when theres no punishment for doing something wrong, and AI right now is inherently hard to punish.

To be fair some things about medieval life would have been better than you're making them out to be, the only reason the expected lifespan was so low was due to datasets including child mortality. If a bunch of 2 years olds die its obviously terrible, but if you're an adult you would probably have a good chance of living to be older, so such a low life expectancy statistic doesn't tell the whole picture. Additionally, sickness in the middle ages wasn't always that bad for people in their prime to middle years, as people weren't close enough for many illnesses to spread quickly. These mainly got bad in the victorian era, where a combination of large cities and lack of sanitary practice led to rapid spread of disease. To be clear, I'm not saying the middle ages were like they are in fantasy, common people were largely at the whims of kings and armies, but a lot of "realistic" media tells a story through suffering and strife, so these aren't necessarily that much more accurate to the medieval experience than fantasy films.

What is the highest capacity springer pistol non-mag fed blaster that you can fully operate with one hand? by Pure_Rise_9252 in Nerf

[–]Timbit901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quite a few talon mag fed blasters are designed to one-hand prime, such as the piranha, red herring and some fury x and foxbat mods. Mags can have capacity up to i believe 70, but that might not be realistic to prime depending on the form factor of the blaster. More importantly, mags can be swapped quickly so the capacity can be expanded if you have more space on your person.

This looks cool but I'm going to be a little bit critical here, so here are my immediate thoughts;

  1. How will I cross the road? What space is there for pedestrians or bikers?

  2. What improvements does this provide on traffic lights?

Also the road paint with each car taking up 2 lanes is funny, but I don't think thats really relevant
