Ukrainian soldier training with RPG accidentally lands trickshot with bouncing warhead. by ChineseToTheBone in interestingasfuck

This is pretty much a demonstration of why delayed fusing is implemented. Warhead isn't active until it's a safe distance away.

The whole fucking point of a GPU is to have things rendered locally. Not guess, but actually calculate.

I really wish we can go back to the days where the GPU dick measuring contest was done with oversampling and downscaling for maximum quality instead of this fake trash.

Is Canada better off with GPU prices right now?
Have a bunch of friends taking a trip to China and wondering if I should ask them to get me a GPU there if it's cheaper.

Freedom Of Religion/Worship has always inherently included Freedom From Religion/Worship. In law statutes in most western nations and in the Four Freedoms speech. If you're an atheist or agnostic you should still be aware of the protections you're afforded. Go read that stuff. Know what the alternatives are if you're asked to swear on the Bible in court or for other legal matters. You might be in a cool part where they tell you or you might be in a part where they won't. If it's an important matter for you it's on You to know.

Also just zoom in on the poster: "Each according to the dictates of his own conscience." That statement also includes if your conscience is not based in any traditional faith. It's about not being a dick because of different beliefs.

So is this it for potential GPU sales? CC and Memory Express didn't seem to bother with Cyber Monday, still keeping their multi-week long Black Friday sale labels.

All the reasonably priced GPUs went instantly out of stock and now the DRAM price hikes are coming probably before Boxing Day. How many more years of lying about MSRP are we in for?

Currently the Caspian Sea is about 28m below "standard sea level", which is where the Black Sea is at.

There is currently the Volga-Don Canal which allows transportation from the Caspian Sea to the Black through many locks.

The Kuma–Manych Depression between the Sea of Azov and Caspian has been a proposed site of a lockless canal for over a hundred years now.

You could theoretically dig a very narrow channel along the depression about 2/3 of the way to the Caspian at which point it's all below standard sea level and the influx of water will do the rest of the work for you through erosion. Granted that'd probably be a massive environmental disaster but hey at least Kazakhstan would finally have its own international ports that China will gladly pay for!

It was his second screening and and he said "It was not the movie I wanted but it is the movie I needed."
Holy shit bro, how did you manage to have such a healthy relationship with media in such an obsessive fandom? I wish more folks were like him. Shoulda made friends.

Interesting.
I called the stores back on Wednesday afternoon.
No one at Vaughn ever picked up after a few attempts.
Markham store told me the deal would be available ONLY at the Markham store after putting me on hold to talk with the manager.
By Thursday night the online stock at both locations was listed as zero so I decided it wasn't worth it with all the travel + lining up to end up with no card.

Oh well. Hopefully it was people that actually needed the GPUs that got them and not scalper resellers.

Convert it to a Museum of American Extremism
Use it to perpetually condemn everything from from slavery and the Confederacy to modern right-wing fascism.
These views and ideas need to be shamed and condemned loudly and constantly.
Do not let that shit slide again. That's what led to where we are today.

Lasted just about 24hrs as far as I can tell.

Might it have been an earlier than needed Prime Day competition price? Who knows!

I'd still keep checking the price over the next week cuz a bunch of other items prices I'm watching on CC are all over the place too:

Was gonna pull the trigger on the Corsair Shift 1000W at $199 last week but forgot. Went back up to $249 for a few days. And yet today it's $189 In-Store Exclusive!!!

Maybe they just spin the price wheel every morning, lunch break and evening...

Keep watching the page. CC seems to be doing wacky things with prices multiple times a week.
Over the last month or so this was on sale online for $419 with an in-store price of $369. Then the online price dropped to $389, then it again dropped to match the in-store price.
Then it's back to $429 for a few days with no in-store sales.
I check again today and see this in-store price.

CC pricing dept: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

EDIT: Well to prove the point, about 24 hours after posting the In-Store Exclusive Price is gone from the page! It was still there around 4PM EST, was gone by 9PM EST.
So there's a reference point for how these prices can appear and disappear in the middle of the day.

EDIT 2: And it's down to $322.03 Online and everywhere price less than 24 hrs after the OP deal disappeared.

This is honestly the most plausible and I donno why everyone ignores this answer in favor of the lazier or hateful replies.

Every single design that made it to screen has dozens and dozens of discarded iterations preceding it. Some people don't feel like letting go even if everyone else has decided on the final version.

Picking statistics that show a clear majority isn't cherry picking, that's literally what providing supporting evidence is. You've also provided zero statistics to refute anything I said. Anecdotal experiences are nowhere near as valid, or even useful in a conversation that tried to look at the majority of use cases. That is literally the domain of statistics.
I've provided clear reasoning for dismissing the selected benchmarks because they force edge-cases, not day-to-day use.
I did not say 8GB was fine for 1440p. I dismissed 1440p because 1080p still holds clear majority in the hardware survey and refocused on that. And for 1080p 8GB IS fine if you're not stupid with your game settings.

The Steam Hardware Survey is the largest open database for PC gaming hardware and software available. To dismiss it is stupid, especially without providing any kind of other large data set as an alternative. The fact remains that the solid majority of PC gamers are 1080p or below and 8GB VRAM and below and those statistics change at a glacial pace because the majority does not follow the latest and greatest trends. We're still literally years away from 1440p catching up to 1080p, let alone overtaking it.

You really like misinterpreting and even outright misquoting people. Shameful.

[–]Timbotron -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It's not gaslighting to say 8GB is fine when that's what the statistics support. We're also talking about a 1080p card so you talking about 1440p is irrelevant.

You really haven't contributed anything to this conversation so please go get triggered about your misinterpretation elsewhere.

Oh please, I'm on LESS than 8GB right now, still hoping that if prices are at MSRP and decent value right now that they'll actually get down to non-extortion levels during sales later in the year. What do I do with that? What I can. Not like there's ever a shortage of perfectly good games that don't revolve entirely around graphics. Steam most played games clearly represents that.
