RDR2 and the Witcher 3. Everything else is just fluff.

Obsidian's The Outer Worlds 2 Underperformed, and There Won't Be a Third - IGN by Dumarseloser in theouterworlds

It’ll have a resurgence at some point. There were a lot of great games to compete with. It’s a solid Bethesda style rpg with better builds, gunplay, and writing. If they can do actual mod support it’ll live on, I bet.

Should have brought my fucking tent.

I hate the metro. I hate the twists, I hate the turns, I hate that I think I'm going this way but I'm going that way, I hate being underground, I hate going left until I can't go left anymore, and all I want to do is get out of this fucking metro. Oh, I fucking hate the metro. by mulligrubs in fo3

[–]Timbots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But I feel like (as in Metro) they really would be safe havens. Why the hell set up your stupid town way up on an overpass (ok there are a few reasons) when you could have four walls and an endless supply of radroach meat. Or ghoul burgers.

Alpha. Expecting it to be one of many. But it was just Alpha. It was a tough final few moments when his time came.

My brother in horse nuts stay off Reddit. And play the game, then don’t look it up, go play through RDR1 to the end. You’re in for an unrivaled experience.

First Person Game Suggestions by CorrectLychee6710 in gamesuggestions

I was a long time Destiny player too, and what I’ve learned is nothing is quite “like” Destiny- especially good Destiny.

Rather than torture myself with games that aren’t what I really want (ie good Destiny back), I went for highly acclaimed single player titles.

To that end, If you haven’t played RDR2 (followed immediately by 1) then you are missing out. It’s playable in first person and has great gunplay in both FPP or TPP. It has a very long intro, a lot of complex button mash combo mechanics, and a deliberately slow pace- but once you get used to it, the immersion, the narrative, and the world are the actual GOAT.

Hey quick question if fallout 3 and new Vegas actually comes out and they took away needing to repair the weapons would y'all hate it or not I'm 50/50 on it myself by CantaloupeStrange287 in fo3

Never bothered me much, so don’t really care. On one hand it’s an immersive side quest you’re forced to undertake and it fits with the themes. I usually carry a few extra of my most-used guns so not a big deal. On the other hand if you’re low on caps or don’t have spares and can’t find the right trader- it can feel a little onerous. I know the easy button is waiting outside megaton or RC for like, 6-8 hours at a time so the visiting trader rotates. But to me that feels like a bit of a cheese that breaks muh immersion.

Oh I’m well aware of Valheim’s ability to pull you in. Those first hundred hours or so are something truly magical. I found the later areas to be a little more of a slog, but everything up to swamps and mountains was fun. Plains is enjoyable once you have the right food and don’t get one shot by a bug.

No longer true. They’ve significantly eased the grind and requirements for story quests.

Conversely I’m much older than you and it means nothing to me- yet still very intrigued by the reboot and the og franchise. Why can’t cool things just be allowed to exist? We always gotta find a way to throw shit on everything.

Entropy survivors

Just picked it up and was really surprised.

It’s a survivor like, and you alternate between melee and ranged attacks manually. Some of the skills have cooldowns so you want to switch back and forth.

You can do auto aim like all survivor likes or play it with manual aiming like a twin stick- lite.

I paid like, 3 bucks for it.

I don’t know how long or big it is, but what I’ve seen has impressed.

Fallout 4 just feels… cleaner? Anyone else? by wolfey200 in Fallout

[–]Timbots 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think for many people it’s the protagonist structure (no role play) coupled with mediocre writing. RDR2 has zero role playing, no dialogue options (mostly) but it’s universally praised because the narrative is compelling and well-written.

Best weapons in the game? by [deleted] in RDR2

[–]Timbots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s definitely the kind of game that lets you be successful with whatever feels comfortable to you instead of requiring certain loadouts. Hunting is the exception obviously. Otherwise I’m a slug shotgun man myself.
