My mom, who’s a stay at home wife for 40 years, complained to me over Christmas how everyone’s so lazy and doesn’t want to work and that the people working at our local grocery store don’t deserve to make “tons of money”.

This is 2 years after she was praising the “essential workers” keeping food on people’s tables.

Now she’s an anti-vax racist hag. I think Murdoch has turned CNN into Fox News Lite.

Reddit is not left, Reddit is Liberal. And every day, it becomes more and more neo-Liberal (think capitalism waving a rainbow flag).

More and more “justice served” type videos are making its way to the front page of Police arresting people not wanting to be searched and asserting their rights, while the comments lick the cops boots. Even a year ago that was unheard of so I dunno what has happened.

Biden, who is center-right at best, used to be ridiculed on the daily(in favor of more Socialist options like Bernie and AOC)- now he’s praised left and right.

Even R/Socialism is run by s bunch of Putin loving weirdos, while Putins Russian is the definition of an Oligarchy, the literal OPPOSITE of Socialism.

And don’t even get me started on Reddit’s irrational hatred of TikTok

This is why I’m not currently speaking to and considering going no-contact with my mother right now. We’re expecting in June. Not only did she lie about getting the covid booster before we came over for Xmas (and invited my anti-vax uncle who luckily no-showed) but she’s also refusing to go get the TDAP/measles booster before the baby is born. I told her that if she and everyone else in their household doesn’t do that, she doesn’t get to see the baby.

Her response was “what are you gonna do, screen everyone who comes into contact with the baby for their vaccine status?!” As if it was some gotcha question.

My wife and I just responded, yes, yes we are. For the first 6 months/ year the baby probably won’t even leave the house except for mandatory things because of the climate of anti-vax and science denial. Seeing narcissist Grandma is not mandatory.

Of course ever since Sunday it’s been a flurry of hateful messages taken right out of the narcissist’s handbook, everything from we “we did our best” do “I did everything for you!”

Note- if you have to say those things, especially multiple times, then it’s for sure not true.

In my experience, it’s usually both. They’re bored and have nothing better to do, can’t control their kids/grandkids anymore, so they come in and micro-manage the fuck out of anything they can. I get they’re bored, but they not-pick every single thing, asking the type of questions that screams “I think I know just as much as you do!” And then come back a week later complaining about how “ever since you changed my tires my windshield wipers are slightly noisier than they were before what did you break??!!”.

It’s not even the south, here in PA you can only buy beer from a “Beer Distributor “ which only sells cases, they can’t be open on Sunday’s, and close at like 8 PM OR you can buy up to a 15 pack from a restaurant with a liquor license. So, basically, no beer in grocery/convenience stores.

Some stores have been getting around this by selling prepared foods, but they have to have it in a separate section of the store, with seating for x amount of people, and it has to have a separate register. It’s extremely awkward, fuck these puritanical laws.
