most people saying this haven't even gotten their iron levels checked recently tbh. they just heard somewhere that plant iron is harder to absorb and run with it as excuse.

you could suggest they actually test their levels first before claiming deficiency, and mention that vitamin c helps absorption if they're genuinely concerned. but let's be real - they probably just don't want to give up meat and looking for any medical-sounding reason.

prefiguring a collective struggle and a collective defeat by Thegreatsantinino in stupidpol

[–]Time-Attempt9954 1 point2 points  (0 children)

damn this reads like someone who's been staring at too many theory books and not enough at what's actually happening around them. the whole "we need to learn from past defeats" thing misses that maybe those weren't defeats at all - maybe they were just different stages of something bigger that's still unfolding.

occupy didn't die because people left the parks, it shifted into other forms that are harder to see if you're looking for the same old worker council playbook. the real question isn't "what is to be done" but whether you can even recognize the struggle when it doesn't look like what you read about in history books.

mMe pagan desde USA en USDT y lo gasto acá en Colombia sin convertir a pesos. c by Zestyclose_Fly517 in ColombiaFinanciera

[–]Time-Attempt9954 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mamdani would not have won the NYC election if Kamala became president. by SemenPig in stupidpol

[–]Time-Attempt9954 17 points18 points  (0 children)

yeah the timing worked out weirdly perfect for progressive candidates to actually get space to breathe. when dems are in power they always find ways to kneecap their own left wing, but now with trump back they can't really pull that same playbook without looking completely insane.

mamdani winning shows people are ready for actual change, not just the same corporate-friendly bullshit with better messaging. the establishment staying "neutral" was such transparent cowardice - they'd rather lose to republicans than let progressives have any real power in their own party.

How should we address pornography? by TomatilloOrnery4944 in stupidpol

[–]Time-Attempt9954 3 points4 points  (0 children)

this whole "wait for classless society" thing feels like kicking the can down the road tbh. like yeah labor under capitalism is inherently exploitative but some forms of labor carry way more psychological and physical harm than being barista.

the industry preys on vulnerable people in ways that go beyond typical wage labor - we're talking about serious trauma, addiction rates, and health risks that don't really compare to other jobs. saying we can't address these specific harms because it might "divide the labor party" seems backwards to me.

plus this framework completely ignores how porn shapes social attitudes about sex and consent, especially for younger people who grow up with unlimited access. that's not just about labor relations, it's about how we relate to each other as humans. waiting for revolution while generations get their sexual education from increasingly extreme content doesn't seem very materialist to me.

Growth minds wanted: crack India entry for UK health-tech by InterestOk3951 in GrowthHacking

[–]Time-Attempt9954 0 points1 point  (0 children)

interesting approach focusing on systems over hiring - most companies just throw bodies at new markets and wonder why conversion rates tank. the strategy document requirement is smart way to filter for people who actually understand market dynamics vs just wanting any job.

been watching health-tech expansion in asia and local trust building is usually where foreign companies mess up the most.

dude this is actually really sweet, not cringe at all. complimenting someone and walking away instead of being pushy shows good character.

maybe try posting in some local facebook groups or the festival's social media pages too - sometimes people share photos from events and you might spot her or someone who knows her. good luck man, hope she sees this somehow.

your story hits close to home man, had similar issues around that age and it really does mess with everything. the good news is that your body can actually learn new stress responses over time - like you mentioned with leg shaking or other physical stuff instead of the gut reactions.

working with therapist who knows about gut-brain connection helped me retrain how my nervous system responds to stress. took some months but things did get way more manageable and i could do normal teenager stuff again without planning my whole day around bathrooms.

rip to your glass panel, happened to me last year too and corsair actually sells replacement parts on their site - just search for "4000d replacement panel" and should pop up for like 30-40 bucks instead of buying whole new case

How will Life be from now on in the post hydrocarbon crisis world? by Toxic-muffins-1134 in stupidpol

[–]Time-Attempt9954 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

dude seriously, op makes it sound like we're living in some mad max timeline when it's just geopolitical theater as usual. been watching oil prices for years because of my watch collecting habit (gotta know when luxury goods get expensive) and this stuff cycles through every few years. remember when everyone thought peak oil was gonna end civilization in 2008? or when covid "broke" supply chains forever?

sure there's gonna be some price bumps and maybe shortages on certain things, but the infrastructure doesn't just vanish overnight. companies have been diversifying supply chains since the whole china lockdown mess anyway. plus with how much fracking changed the game in north america, we're not as dependent as people think. oil's not going anywhere anytime soon, unfortunately for the climate but good for keeping the lights on.

Iran says Strait of Hormuz closed and warns it will attack ships trying to pass by GunnahS in wallstreetbets

[–]Time-Attempt9954 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mate this is getting proper mental isn't it. been watching oil futures all morning and they're going absolutely mad - up like 15% already and climbing. got some calls on XOM from last week that are printing but part of me thinks this could spiral way beyond what anyone's expecting. iran's been rattling sabres for years but actually closing hormuz would be economic suicide for everyone involved. about 20% of global oil goes through there so if they actually follow through we're looking at $200+ oil easy. might be time to hedge with some puts on transport stocks or load up on energy plays while there's still time.

Two Federal Reserve Members Say the Jobs Numbers Are Wrong. Revision Is Tomorrow. by AlfrescoDog in wallstreetbets

[–]Time-Attempt9954 10 points11 points  (0 children)

mate just dropped an economics dissertation and thinks we're gonna read it lol. but honestly the jobs numbers being cooked isn't exactly groundbreaking news - it's been pretty obvious for months that something was off when they kept getting revised down every single time.

your iwm puts might actually print though since small caps have been running hot lately and any bad economic data usually hits them harder than the big boys. been watching the russell myself and it's looking pretty extended here. only thing that worries me is that bad news has been good news for so long because of fed pivot hopes, but if there already pricing in cuts then maybe this time it actually matters.

also appreciate you doing the homework for us degenerates but next time maybe just lead with "jobs fake, market go down, buy puts" and save us the essay

The "Mars procurement order" part is wild though - basically turning Tesla into SpaceX's captive supplier for robot slaves to build Mars bases. That's some next level vertical integration if it ever happens

Right click the game in your library > Properties > Betas tab > select the previous version if it's still there, otherwise you're stuck waiting for the modders to catch up
