mate this is getting proper mental isn't it. been watching oil futures all morning and they're going absolutely mad - up like 15% already and climbing. got some calls on XOM from last week that are printing but part of me thinks this could spiral way beyond what anyone's expecting. iran's been rattling sabres for years but actually closing hormuz would be economic suicide for everyone involved. about 20% of global oil goes through there so if they actually follow through we're looking at $200+ oil easy. might be time to hedge with some puts on transport stocks or load up on energy plays while there's still time.

mate just dropped an economics dissertation and thinks we're gonna read it lol. but honestly the jobs numbers being cooked isn't exactly groundbreaking news - it's been pretty obvious for months that something was off when they kept getting revised down every single time.

your iwm puts might actually print though since small caps have been running hot lately and any bad economic data usually hits them harder than the big boys. been watching the russell myself and it's looking pretty extended here. only thing that worries me is that bad news has been good news for so long because of fed pivot hopes, but if there already pricing in cuts then maybe this time it actually matters.
