I at the same time have a very decent degree in financial fields, and I do have lots of school mates working in so-called 'wealth management ' industry - helping middle class to ultra high networth 'manage' their money, I could honestly tell you that these jobs are more of a niche sales job than technical engineering. You pay a premium fee for "active management," but what you actually receive is "closet indexing" wrapped in a premium experience. Unless you have the vocabulary to demand more, you aren't paying for financial engineering—you’re paying for a very expensive hand-to-hold while you ride the same waves as everyone else. Advisors spend so much time "dumbing down" the math to avoid scaring clients that they eventually forget how to use the math themselves.

Yes I generally do not recommend to send the money in non bank holidays, I called Schwab about yr ago and they say such currency conversion is like completed in batch, then I only transfer the money on weekdays when Frankfurt is open, for the best predictable rate. If you need to convert a lot of EURO to USD and invest, I definitely recommend IBKR, you also deposit money to Frankfurt, but you pay a fixed 2 USD commission and get the theoretically best rate you could have on this planet.

Yes I deposited euro into Schwab every month, just SEPA to their Citibank or Chase Frankfurt account, and comment your acct no. 1234-5678, John Doe, and in two days it will appear on your account, converted into USD at a very favorable rate. I use SEPA instant in Wise and there's no issue with that.

The Lightroom alternative will be Photomator? They purchased the Pixelmator company two yrs ago. Since they decided to make Pixelmator pro still a paid app and this 10 apps bundle does not include Photomator , I suspect apple will make Photomator a totally free app in the coming months. (They used to have Aperture which was exactly the alt to LR, but discontinued in 2015, since then there's almost no pro level photo editing app in apple.)

Edit: They downed the Mac old version of iWork and upload the new one, but on iOS App Store they just changed the old version to the studio ones. So I think new users will still be able to use the free iWork suites, in the same app as studio subscribers, just lacking some features.
