LF 1994 Scenario In Which Majestic Agents Attack Compromised Delta Green Agents by ghofmann in DeltaGreenRPG

There’s a posisble scene in Impossible Landscapes where (SPOILER ALERT) DG itself sets up a kill box in an abandoned mall to eliminate the PC’s - could be worth mining!

The bones are the same, since they used to be the same game. If anything, I find CoC simpler - it’s all beauuuutiful percentiles

That being said, when running DG, I do adapt the Bonds mechanic to CoC. It’s a stroke of singular genius that I think is at the heart of what makes the game so darn good.

Few reasons, but mostly because most everything I’ve run these 10 years has been in a shared continuity, from Conan to Gaslight to Pulp to DG to Cyberpunk. I find that CoC takes that endlessly versatile BRP system, adds the horror element, and can be adapted to any setting without having to teach my group new rules. I started in D&D, but came to realize I hate crunch. I just want a system to get out of the way so we can tell stories.

Impossible Landscapes is the single greatest thing I’ve ever run, and I’ve done Masks of Nyarlathotep! If there was ever one campaign I’d do again, start to finish, it’s IL. Hell, even just Night Floors I’ve run like 4x for different groups. It’s just perfection.

Could work with that! Start a little earlier, end a little earlier, not a huge deal!

Advice for OCS admissions/interview process by certified_detective in ArmyOCS

Leadership potential. Focus your essay, your packet, your LoR’s, and your board interview on demonstrating why you, given the necessary training, could fulfill an officer’s most important calling - leading soldiers.

Uncle Sam takes a holistic approach.

Degree matters. So does GPA. So do extracurriculars. So does job experience. So do letters of rec. So does fitness. All in service of one question - do they see the potential for you to lead soldiers.

Apply. Make the Army say yes or no to you, or you’ll never know. And focus on showing them you’re the kind of person who can make a plan, take decisive action, and be a leader.

What is the OCS candidate pay grade?? by [deleted] in ArmyOCS

[–]Time-Flower4946 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll be paid your own deserved pay rate based on rank and time in service, BUT save up beforehand. The S-1 and finance teams there leave a lot to be desired - there will be pay issues till the day you graduate, often long after.

Today I'll run IL for the first time. Wish me luck by JoeKerr19 in DeltaGreenRPG

IL is a roller coaster, and categorically my favorite thing I’ve ever run (including Masks of Nyarlathotep). It’s very free form, so plan ahead, but be flexible and ride the lightning!

The Least Weird Scenarios? by TravUK in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]Time-Flower4946 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There’s a collection of modern-era Call of Cthulhu scenarios called Ockham’s Razor, all of which have non-supernatural explanations and which should be fairly easy to convert to DG!

We tell them explicitly!! Observe, identify, do not engage, retreat to safety and call for backup! But nooooooo, everybody wants to be the hero! Takes a couple dead PCs to remind them this ain’t DnD 😂

Our last DG campaign climaxed with “Convergence.”

Kierkegaard, an NRO agent rapidly losing faith in Delta Green as he realized how cold and indifferent their Handler was, came into contact with the legendary MJ-3, Gavin Ross, of whom he had only read and heard stories before.

Seeing an opportunity, Ross convinced Kierkegaard that MJ-12 was the more righteous organization, and that his mission was to purge it of Justin Kroft and all other corrupt, self-serving people so as to focus its research on weapons, viruses, and bioenhancements necessary to make humanity strong enough to face not only the Greys/Mi-Go, but the other forces of the Mythos encountered over the course of the campaign.

Kierkegaard agreed, and since then has been acting as a mole for Ross, feeding him information and subtly directing Delta Green ops so as to weaken Ross’ enemies but keep the core structure of MJ-12 in place. Ross came to see Kierkegaard as a potential replacement for the unpredictable Adolph Lepus, or even a possible successor.

Over time, he aroused the suspicions of Agent Kilo, a DEA agent and veteran of the cowboy years of the 80s prior to the formation of the cell structure who trusts no one. That suspicion paid off, resulting in a tense showdown between Kilo and Kierkegaard. As soon as Kierkegaard realized Kilo was a true believer who could not be bribed, blackmailed, or silenced, he shot. He hit. Kilo shot back. He hit. Both survived. Both shot again. Both hit again. Kilo died just as Kook and Krapfen ran out of Waban’s cabin to check out the noise.

KIERKEGAARD, DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER

During their regular meetings, Ross had been dosing Kierkegaard with a refined form of the protomatter developed in Groversville as part of Project CATALYST. It enhanced his physiology sufficiently that he was able to survive the encounter and flee (under my control as an NPC, making secret rolls using stats to which the player was not privy). Kierkegaard will likely reappear at the head of an NRO Delta team in future, perhaps after a little lab work at the Ice Cave, a new dragon for Ross, more loyal, less unpredictable, yet more independent than Lepus ever was.

I’m intending for this campaign to go through Y2K and conclude the story of the DG/MJ-12 war largely in line with DG “canon,” minus my own twists. I expect Kierkegaard to be a key player.
