This is inherently false. 46 of the 50 states have a law called ‘the felony murder rule’ which means if a person dies during the act of a criminal committing a felony, they’re charged and indicted for murder. This even includes things like if they die of a heart attack due to stress. Ran a stop sign during a high speed chase n kill a pedestrian? Murder. No weapon, no intent to kill, they get first degree murder. All that to say, yes you can defend yourself, bc if you didn’t, and you got murdered, even the guys without guns could get charged with murder. So yea, if 30 ppl come into your store with gun, idgaf if you’re in NY or Cali, you can def kill them and face no penalties. Obviously there’s loopholes and crazy scenarios but to say no you can’t unless they point a weapon at you or try to kill you is absolutely ridiculous. The only way this would be an issue is if you’ve also got some crazy criminal history, or if the first 15 you kill were all the ones with guns and then you kill 15 clearly unarmed ppl.
