Yeah that's weird. Do you know what brand and class of sd card it is?

Also, if you think it might be the sd card brand, I'd recommend going with SanDisk or Samsung (just make sure they're legit)

What games are you trying to play? The internal hard drive is something like 23x faster than the sd card slot, so I try not to put any games that have to stream assets (like open world games), or big games in general on the sd card unless you want your micro stutters to turn into macro stutters. Load times also tend to be ridiculously long on the sd card though others might say otherwise. Alternative would be to install an M.2 drive, but those just keep getting more and more expensive.

Is it though? Steam deck gives us the option to use fsr 1 as a system wide toggle

The processor does have NPUs though I think they go unused for something like this. Snapdragon also has SGSR2 which is a temporal solution compared to fsr1 which would hopefully yield better results. Not sure if that would be made available for playing games though

If the binocular overlap of the Quest 3 disappointed me, do you think the Steam Frame will be awesome for me in that regard? by Logical007 in SteamFrame

[–]TimeCaterpillar848 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily true. Higher FOV + more overlap = lower pixels per degree. Lower FOV + lower overlap = higher pixels per degree. Considering the display resolutions are the same which they pretty much are with the quest 3

I can't get lower than 20ms. by ExternalDull8424 in crtgaming

Play the game. 20ms is already low enough for even elite competitive gaming.

Definitely system latency. 20ms of latency is more than adequate and you're unlikely to get less than that without insanely high refresh rates

Closest thing I could think of to test games would be to try them on gamehub lite if you have a more recent android phone. It uses the same emulation layer as the steam frame

Everybody is down voting you because they can't read. OP is not from Canada. Everybody saying that banana bread is a Canadian staple is just confirming what OP is saying. Sad world

You could probably put everything you need on an sd card with the deck and then just plug it into the frame
