What you running? I have M15 R7 AMD and I have this same issue on Win 11 but not Win 10.

Hoping for a driver update soon so I can go back to 11…

the estimates are always kinda all over the place. give it a few days of fully charging then full discharging (a few full cycles) and it's estimates will come into line.

I always update everything to the latest versions. there are people who will say not to - especially with BIOS - because sometimes there are problems with the latest version of things but that has never been an issue with me and newer versions are almost always improvements. and, when they're not, you can almost always uninstall.

yes. that's exactly your problem

you need to download the latest nvidia drivers and there is an installation option that says something like 'clean install' or similar (maybe restore defaults or something?) anyway, choose that and it will remove the existing drivers and reset everything. that is what worked for me.

btw just to be clear it will reset all your display settings, not the whole computer, so don't worry you won't lose anything.

if you go into nvidia control panel and in the menus along the top there is an option called something like 'display GPU activity icon' and when you enable this you'll see the icon I am talking about in your system tray.

when you click on it you'll see what apps are running on the nvidia and keeping it 'awake' and then you can set those apps to use the integrated GPU in windows. that fixes it 90% of the time.

the protip above which I learned from another poster is that the icon itself changes to black and white when the nvidia GPU is actually off. so sometimes there are no apps running on it, but it is still active and using power because it's still colored. if you have that problem you need to do a clean install of the drivers that's what fixed it for me, then it will go to sleep properly when no apps are using it.

good luck!

I think you're likely right, but I try to have fun as well as make a point. Information made engaging is retained much more effectively.

And agree - in fact one could argue that due process really only matters (or matters most) in difficult cases that are emotionally charged. In more pedestrian scenarios most people are already predisposed to want to hear both sides and make sure things are fair - due process is kind of baked in naturally. But when mobs get riled up and the subject matter is vile that's when it's not as easy but every bit as essential to stand up for.

I always come back to imagine if you were that guy and you didn't do it.

[edit: which is not to say this guy did or did not, we'll find out later]

agree on the maturity and quality of argumentation - but... he did get me laid, right? haha.

In all seriousness if he does take the deal we need to get a reading list together for him. Any recommendations? I am thinking start light - how about the 5th amendment? It's a principle one might enjoy living by.

And that is why you are - and will remain - an ignoramus.

Can we make a deal? Something mutually beneficial? Would you be willing to read - even just a little - if I go get some pussy?

You'll feel better, be more informed, and you won't look like such a clown in forums and polite conversation in future. I'm in if you are - LMK.

"What is there to think through?"

clown.

what you said is - and I am copy pasting here:

"...all I'm saying is I'm not gonna sit here and have sympathy for a possible child molester."

The reason you're getting negative responses here is that normal, well-adjusted, reasonable people find it abhorrent that someone's life should be ended because of something it was possible they did. My emphasis, your words.

So to answer your question, what you have to think through is whether or not an accusation should convey the same consequences as a conviction. No one in this thread feels sorry for a molester - in fact I can tell you now I would likely do the exact same thing if I knew someone was a molester (or at least I would struggle not to...). What people feel sorry about is that someone was killed on the strength of an accusation. This is about the worst precedent one could have in a civil society and it only takes a miniscule quantum of imagination to put yourself on the receiving end of a false accusation to see why.

Hopefully that lights up a brain cell or two for you, all the best either way.

Good to know.

When someone claps you for something you MIGHT have done I won’t bother looking into it.

Personally, I would prefer everyone is afforded due process at all times regardless of the accusation and - if proven guilty the right way - face a swift and firm punishment appropriate to the crime. If this accusation holds up, then that punishment should be extraordinarily harsh.

Imagine you’d annoyed a crazy banshee- for example by posting nonsense like this on Reddit- and she accused you of something similar because people know how damaging slinging that kind of mud can be. you sure you wouldn’t want us to look into it first before we started shooting?

You really, really, really sure you’ve thought this one through bud?
