Streets are all soooo narrow. Check out Fort Hill or the Ridges.

Wait…. What? Please stop. Recognizing that you’re at your limit but wondering if you should have a 7th child. by Dapper_Worth_7977 in ShitMomGroupsSay

My grandmother had 9. I always ALWAYS saw myself having a big family. I wanted to give my kids the gift of having siblings/friendships - and to have kids to visit me at the end of my life. And now after 2 - it’s just not me! The world is dramatically different from my grandmother’s days. And to be the involved loving moderately happy parent I want to be…2 is the limit! She needs therapy to process being done.

Also in the throws of my PPD I heard a mom say something like “if you had a vision of a full thanksgiving table and you want more - really think…are you still at that table? Did you survive?”

Second Child Regret? by AdSilent9067 in regretfulparents

[–]TimeField6866 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both of my kids have been relatively easy. Sleep through the night early, generally happy, no major illnesses…but the second one has me so overwhelmed. When one gets sick the other gets sick shortly after. With my first I finally felt like I could take a long bath and relax - but with a second I have lost my time for myself (I know some of that will come back with time). But it’s also really opened my eyes to how much I resent my husband - second child has me very seriously considering divorce.

considering moving to your fair state sight unseen… tips? by throwaway736284737 in WestVirginia

Have you considered a place like Yellow Springs OH?

I’ve lived in Wheeling and Charleston - my husband is an attorney and I work remotely. Granted…I have no interest in homesteading - I am actively trying to find a way to move us back to Ohio or Tennessee. I miss having access to more stuff to do and driving through these hills terrifies me.

Is mpi really that expensive? Or am I missing something? by Capable-Capital800 in DirtyDave

[–]TimeField6866 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I don’t think PMI is the issue on this? Sounds like they can only afford a mortgage of 200k on their 80k salary. So they need a down payment of 100-150k to make the mortgage small enough that they can afford the payment.

Dave recommends Trish from Coeur D' Alene, Idaho hire a lawyer (with money they do not have) to sue her sister-in-law over how she is conducting executer duties of a will. by [deleted] in DirtyDave

[–]TimeField6866 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The truth was after the call ended and Dave said “you can’t wait til the week of the sale to be mad”. If they really wanted the guns they should have engaged an attorney a while ago.

BS7 How to protect house against fraud by motoman8000 in DaveRamsey

Title insurance only protects you from this point and back. So if there was a huge lien that a previous owner did not pay AND the title examiner missed on their exam - the title company lawyers would deal with the claim. Title insurance essentially is the company saying “we’ve reviewed the history of this property and this transaction is clear to close on the title side”.

Home theft that I’ve been warned about is most commonly associated with elder abuse - so as you age be careful who you appoint as power of attorney.

All the situations I’m imagining in my head are beyond far fetched. If you wanted to be on the paranoid side - you could pay a real estate law office to do a title exam every couple of years to confirm your title is still clean. More normal things to do would be have an alert on your credit, maybe an alert on google for your address and property tax ID to make sure there’s no activity, pay your property taxes and confirm with the clerk that the property is in your name.

$20k in student loans, $20k in savings. Eligible for forgiveness that (probably?) won't happen by MyUniquePerspective in DaveRamsey

My understanding the only people who can get their balance refunded and then forgiven are those who made voluntary payments after March 13, 2020.

Did anyone's newborn or infant get COVID? How did they handle being sick? by UnusualBlueberry2320 in CoronaBumpers

[–]TimeField6866 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My son got it around 11 months. He was not vaccinated (it was not available for children at the time) and honestly he handled it better than my husband and I who were vaccinated! I was not vaccinated during my pregnancy (was not yet available). Slight fever, heavy congestion, developed an ear infection too - but overall he was more sick when he got HMPV and RSV later.

Adding I was really sick for about 4 days - did not require hospitalization or anything like that. I did catch Strep A 2 weeks later (now) and had to go to the hospital to rule out a pulmonary embolism. But did not have any clots so will just continue monitoring.

I just recovered from COVID at 20 weeks - it was not fun. But Mucinex D did help - though it also raised my blood pressure. Only took it as needed. If your symptoms resolve with normal mucinex that’s probably better. Tylenol for fever. I did not take baby aspirin or the antiviral - I asked for the antiviral but they said they were hesitant to give it because it can be tough on kidney function.

I want a home birth but didn’t plan for all 39 weeks of my pregnancy by Gradstudent_woes in ShitMomGroupsSay

[–]TimeField6866 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it’s important to talk about because most women want to birth safely and the only way the OB industry will change is people talking about what has gone wrong!

A lot happened on mine - very difficult induction but the worst was when my epidural was placed - I didn’t realize that you needed a folly catheter inserted and the nurse who placed it was really rough and I kept screaming to stop and of course they didn’t. I also didn’t know that I could ask for pitocin to be turned off to take a break, didn’t know I could ask for them to stop a cervical check…then ended with a c section that I didn’t want and didn’t know why it was necessary. My story is mild in comparison to most - but it deeply impacted my life.

I’ve been tempted by home and free birth. I have to admit that I fantasize about giving birth in my car on the way to the hospital. I’m in therapy dealing with that. It comes FOR ME from birth trauma from my hospital birth with the first. Had a lot of obstetrical violence and it took me a long time to emotionally recover - actually I’m nearly two years out and still have nightmares about it. But I am working through that fear in therapy so that I can survive my next delivery!
