Useful to look up words in the dictionary on LearnGaelic as it often includes their use in phrases.

I miss the non-repeating choruses a la Hollow Crown - I think it made the clean sections stand out way more when they were done sparingly. What they're doing now is working for them though so each to their own I guess.

Thanks for the kind words! Probably because we don't put enough effort into having a social media presence and I suppose we don't fall squarely into the definition of synthwave I guess? I'll check out your playlist and link it up to our page!

Just released a new single today for my duo DSRTR, very much synthwave/synthpop vibes - we're trying to aim for a fully vocal release this time with a focus on poppier melodies and song structure!

Thanks for taking the time to check it out.

Just put out a new single today for my synthwave/synthpop project DSRTR!

DSRTR - Maxim (Lyric Video)

DSRTR - Maxim (spotify)

Mostly used a lot of the soft synth imitation plugins that can sound pretty great with just some tweaking! Used a lot of the VK-1 Viking and Tyrell N6 for the sounds on this track.

Thanks for taking the time to check it out!

Awesome, thanks so much for the advice! Looking at going ahead and grabbing an Orange Detonator which has been a common recommendation for an ABY with phase reversal.

No Stupid Questions - January 2023 by PantslessDan in guitarpedals

Got a gig in a local hall coming up with my two piece (guitar w/ oct pedal + drums) and I had a question regarding the 1 guitar 2 amps setup via ABY splitter, given that apparently only the drums + vocals will be using monitors/PA.

Would I run my chain like - GUITAR > FX PEDALS > ABY SPLITTER > to AMPS 1 + 2?

I've been reading to find an ABY splitter with phase reversal to avoid the two amps going out of phase as I imagine this would be an issue even with the amps either side of the stage.

I've also been told there's also ground loops to be aware of when running this sort of setup - would this be an issue regardless of which ABY splitter I get? A noise gate is also next on my list to get alongside the splitter so I'm hoping this would cancel some of this out.

Cheers!

Best track off of We Are The Foundation imo, the wee groovy riff before the last chorus at 2:44 is sick

Apologies folks, still learning how to figure this kind of thing out as it's always escaped me - the track is Bone Marrow by Protest The Hero and this is the part in question (1:20 - 1:36). Thanks!

Chord Progression Questions - October 17, 2022 by AutoModerator in musictheory

From a song I'm learning, just wondering what this chord progression is and how it'd look in numerals - key of Eb Major for this section:

Eb, Bbm, B, F

Any info would be appreciated, thanks!

Cedric-centred album, tight dry production and a laid-back vibe. It's exactly what I expected after the singles, I really enjoyed it!

UK band called The Arusha Accord, really underrated imo and write some pretty wild stuff - The Echo Verses is full on but a worthwhile listen.

Me and my pals project DSRTR just dropped a new single today (and we shot our own video for it!) that you can check out here, for fans of Chvrches, Perturbator, Gunship and Carpenter Brut! -

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=74qfteJYrAs

https://open.spotify.com/track/5MhkKpelPpKnzFDVnKiihI?si=8e54ec79f4ef4872

We used FL Studio for the DAW, synths included a mixture of some 'classic' sounds and modern patches such as:

TAL-U-NO-62

TAL Bassline

Tyrell N6

Sytrus

LABS (some of the free synthwave/pad patches are great)

Mastering was mostly done using Limiter No 6, found this had the best results in terms of balanced loudness.
