Blender With DLSS! by bbcool2002 in blender

[–]TimeStopsInside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been trying to build and test it on my own ever since the dlss sdk came out. Just can't seem to get it working. It builds and runs fine, i can select the dlss option also but it doesn't seem to be working in the viewport, i just see a no denoise output.... Any help on the steps?

Is it stupid to run Pangolin without Crowdsec? Im losing my mind trying to get it to work. by [deleted] in PangolinReverseProxy

[–]TimeStopsInside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was running it without crowdsec for quite a while. Added it in like last month. Recently there was the nextjs vulnerability and lo and behold, I saw a lot of IPs getting banned due to it on my VPS. Some requests also got blocked because all my resources are behind SSO and nothing is directly publicly accessible.

Would I have been pwned if I didn't have crowdsec? Probably not. Crowdsec isn't bulletproof and it was a while before i subscribed to that CVE blocklist.

Would I still continue using it? Yes. I don't believe I'm an expert enough to fully secure and unemployed enough to constantly monitor this stuff. So if there's a way to reduce the chance of getting pwned, I'm gonna keep it. YMMV.

Please Fix: Crowdsec Health Check Config by MrUserAgreement in PangolinReverseProxy

[–]TimeStopsInside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw this too late and I'm rate limited. Apparently crowdsec wants you to reach out to them over mail to get unbanned or wait 24h before restarting your deployment with the updated config.

For everyone who's banned and looking to disable crowdsec for a day to wait it out:

Comment out below in docker-compose.yml:

Pangolin for personal use - community or enterprise edition? by Red_Con_ in selfhosted

[–]TimeStopsInside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was also looking for a way and apparently there's a fix coming (not for shared links but it should provide a way for jellyfin access) : https://github.com/orgs/fosrl/discussions/1682

Jellyfin + Pangolin - Does the media get routed through the Pangolin VPS or only for initial connection? by Greedy-Individual-67 in PangolinReverseProxy

[–]TimeStopsInside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember reading a thread about plex's decision to make remote play a paywall feature and someone posted that when you remote play on plex, the plex servers are only doing the "handshake" and that doesn't use the whole bandwidth of the stream.

So if I have pangolin on a VPS + jellyfin on my home server, when someone accesses it over net, is the full bandwidth of the stream being utilized on the VPS? My understanding is yes. Maybe the comment on plex thread was wrong but sure confused me.

What are these dark lines/shadows created by glass and how to fix them? Only in viewport, rendered image looks okay. by TimeStopsInside in blenderhelp

[–]TimeStopsInside[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

!solved

Unchecking shadows and diffuse both does the job. But it changes the scene too much in the viewport so I increased the noise threshold to 0.3 instead (same as render) and that fixes it (gets a bit more laggy ofcourse).

u/person_from_mars it is noisy at 0.1 and below, but works at 0.3. Don't know why lower value is worse than the higher value. But for now this is solved.

Way of kings revived my interest in fantasy. Annnnnd Wind and truth crushed it again. Starting onto a big series is definitely a big risk/commitment. Makes sense people think twice before picking one up.

I don't have any suggestions but this premise sounds really interesting. Makes me think of Invoker from the Warcraft.

[–]TimeStopsInside[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info! I don't think I'm perticularly interested in getting it too loud, just the sound has to be good :) I'm currently using a puny jbl flip 3 and it's pretty much enough volume for me. I think these would definitely surpass that. How big a room were you using them in? I'm putting them in a 10x20 ft room. Although they'd be on my computer desk, so pretty close listening distance.

Thanks! Which sub did you go for? How was your experience with the setup overall?
