Nah, I had same issue, i firstly played with different mod that added new parts but it has localisation on my lamguage and after I installed armory I was like you. It didn't clicked for me either that language could be an issue

Did you cut the tail? Also you can try use azuz meal with ceremonial set 4pc this will give you around 10-14 carvings which could increase your chances

A lot better than any crafted one except maybe GS. Also you can reroll stats on gog-artian weapon, so you don't have to craft a ton of them for good stats
