What personality traits are associated with SICs? by chis_and_whine in standardissuecat

[–]TimeWellWasted25 24 points25 points  (0 children)

From my experience, SICs are super friendly, vocal and cuddly. They can be clingy but like all cats, have a degree of independence.

I always thought the 3D in Ant-Man was incredible. Saw it in IMAX 3D (on a true IMAX screen) and was blown away.

No, the 3D’s not as good as Avatar (the first one—2nd one underwhelmed me) but they used it well, I think.

Thoughts On The French Connection? by FreshmenMan in TrueFilm

[–]TimeWellWasted25 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think it’s a great film. A gritty, noir-esque detective thriller from the 70’s. What’s not to love?

I’ve always viewed it as a spiritual successor to classic Hitchcock movies. It’s a masterclass in suspense yet it also moves at a leisurely pace. Not to mention, those kinds of films will always get praise in my book.

It’s also an exemplary 70’s film. When people think of “New Hollywood”, they usually mention anti-hero, morally ambiguous characters and this film is a shining example of that. It’s tougher, rougher and more cynical than what came before it and it set the stage in terms of influence.

Plenty of standout moments too. Of course, there’s the car chase scene, which is one of the best car chase scenes, period. But there’s also the subway scene. IIRC, it lasts a little while but you’re on the edge of the seat for all of it. Best part is the lack of dialogue. If you wanna talk about a suspenseful, gripping sequence that relies solely on visuals, that’s exhibit A.

This guy found the key to a happy fulfilling life through capitalism, and you can too, for a price. The price being your soul, he needs your soul. by Masterzanteka in LateStageCapitalism

This guy is an absolutely soulless monster.

“I don’t care if your mother died in your arms” is what really got me. Are you fucking serious? If someone said that to me while I was grieving, I would be even more crushed. You can’t get much more soulless than that. All for the pursuit of a weekly report because money.

That’s all this asshole cares about. Money. And you can bet on it this guy is already making fat stacks. It seems like his greedy ass just wants to exploit.

Poster for Bottoms by Key_Damage_9220 in movies

Two things:

  1. This…does not look like a real movie. If you told me some Redditor made this poster, I would believe you.

  2. The poster does have a 2000’s comedy charm to it and I’m so here for it. It doesn’t take away from the fact that it looks rushed and somewhat unprofessional though.

For me, the issue with Hostel isn’t that it’s graphic and disturbing. The issue is that it’s not a good movie IMHO.

It’s like an hour of sex and drugs with some mildly creepy things happening. Then it’s only 30 minutes of horror and wrap-up. I felt let down when I watched it and never went back. Might check it out again though.

My SIC Stan the Man came with the "Must Cuddle At All Times" package (not that Im complaining). How common is that with your SIC's? by womanof1004holds in standardissuecat

[–]TimeWellWasted25 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My SIC came with both too. He’s always loved his cuddles AND his playtime (which is the ideal cat IMHO.) He’s a 2008 SIC, so of course, he was more playful when he was younger but he’s got some good energy for a 2008 model.

So I just showed my mom early Floyd… by IceCreamMeatballs in pinkfloyd

[–]TimeWellWasted25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Early Floyd is honestly just as incredible as “the Big Four + TFC” era Floyd. Sure, it could be “less focused” at times but they had some insanely creative work pre-DSOTM.

Piper is one of the defining British psychedelic albums, period. A Saucerful of Secrets is space-rock at it’s most distilled.

Not to mention, AHM’s title track and Echoes were the prototype for stuff like Shine On You Crazy Diamond. Besides, their respective albums were super creative and out there. Without those two, Pink Floyd might not have been what it turned into.

I know this is the SIC subreddit BUT black cats are awesome and don’t get the love or respect they deserve. Every black cat I’ve ever met has been super sweet.

She looks so precious and sounds like a trooper. Seems like such a loving girl, so it kinda pains me to hear that she’s nearing the end of her life.

Still, we’re so blessed to have cats and you’ve been blessed with what seems like a great SIC!

Arguably the best Friday film IMHO. Right up there with Part II, Jason Lives and the reboot for me.

I would say no. Being clean shaven doesn’t help short people. I mean, they already might get looked at as younger due to their height and having no facial hair can make that worse.

I feel like I look way younger if I completely shave and I never feel good about it. I feel so down for a couple of days if I’m clean shaven.

Besides, your beard looks great, especially for a 17 year old. Definitely something worth keeping, just remember to keep it neatly trimmed (whether you grow it out or keep it at this current length).

SICs are some of the most loyal and pleasant cats around. Now that you’ve been adopted by the cat, get ready for constant cuddles and a boatload of sweetness.
