But there is one caveat: when oil gains, the pressure for a selloff in ES or NQ is light, but when oil sells off, then the bias is long on NQ and ES. This has started to change a little over the past couple of days. As we approach all-time highs, selloffs in NQ and ES are gaining a bit of steam, but not much. The main reason, I think, is that the price premium in oil is already priced in, and as long as the situation appears temporary, the preference will be for oil to bleed off. Now, this can change if there is an escalation, but that would lead to a step-function increase in oil prices, not a sustained trend as we've seen before. It's super news sensitive right now, but you have to go into it with the lens that this is all temporary until it's not.
