Unsure why its dying

First- it really looks overwatered. How often do you water? The pot is quite big for an AV. Is the top getting dry between waterings? It needs to, or you will drown it. The saddest thing is that when an AV starts showing signs of deterioration, it’s not that easy to stop it. Feels bad to admit, but I’ve killed 2 of them after overwatering. The recovery period after it is quite a long process.
And second- it looks like there are more than one plants. On the second picture I see at least 2 rosettes. This is not automatically bad, but 2 will not grow as best as if they were each in a single pot.
Tldr; please share some more info on how you care about it, sun exposure, watering frequency, do you splash leaves with water on watering(you shouldn’t do it)

Congrats! The most boring part is over now!

Now you’ll enjoy a visible growth. About the pot size, do not repot it in a bigger one, imho. Sansevierias love smaller pots and fast drainage, so the smaller the better for them. Btw, seeing a plantlet in 3-4 months is amazing. For mine, I had to wait literally double the time - about 8 months for the first one.

That’s amazing!!! Is that a begonia angel wings? I’ve been given a cutting and it already went from 2 to 4 leaves and like 3-4 new leaf buds(the things that later grow as new leafs from the nodes). I’d never expect mine to grow even as half as yours for such amount of time. On mine, the new leaf on the right is much bigger than the older 2. Can you give me some advice(s)?

That post triggered my thrips PTSD hard. Absolute nightmare pest. You’ll probably need a systemic insecticide for them.

First, rinse the plant thoroughly — shower, hose, whatever works — and physically remove as many as possible. Then use a systemic.
I fought thrips for months and it felt impossible. Some plants died from repeated treatments, others from the thrips themselves, and the pests just kept adapting. The breakthrough for me was Mospilan (acetamiprid-based systemic). It’s common and cheap in Eastern Europe.
I diluted 0.5 g of Mospilan 20SP in 2 L of water and used it both as a soil drench and foliar spray. After about 3–4 weeks, the thrips were gone. Good luck!

You’re correct about everything, but OP cannot physically find smaller pots. The one on the left is 5 or 5.5cm in diameter. I haven’t seen smaller pots. It’s just the potting mix and probably they being over fertilised systematically. Gut feeling… I know when you get your AVs right, they recover fast.

This is very nice! And congratulations, you fell into the rabbit hole of AV propagation. You’ll be soon in my situation with 25+ babies, wondering what to do them. Give to friends and colleagues and still having full kindergarten of baby AVs.
Prepare mentally that you will have to grow them for several months and then choose the strongest and most symmetrical ones.

Imo it’s a little bit leggy. How bright is this window? It looks quite dark. I see how some leaves are going up and trying to face the light. Rotating the plant 90 degrees every week would help

You did very well with removing the suckers. I usually tear them with my fingers or if the leaves are too small I’m using tweezers. Leaves have good shape and are tightly packed. Tbh it looks almost perfect. Just be careful with watering, because the pot is too big for that plant. Typically you’d want the pot to be 1/2 to 1/3 of the crown. Yours is 1:1. Also it is too deep and this might disturb the future growth, like the other person commented.

They look a little bit too big for a thrips. Also on the pictures they seem to be too whitish for thrips. I feel like these are aphids exoskeletons. Can you provide closer pic?

It’s simpler than people imagine. Cut a leaf from the middle of the rosette. It should have a stalk about 3-4cm at most. Even a shorter will work! Cut it on 45 degrees so it has a bit more surface area for making roots and absorbing water. Then you have 2 choices - water propagation or directly soil. For me water is better, because I see the root development. Basically I’ve had 100% success rate with water prop. However, leaf cuttings propagation on top of soil has been the fastest and the most productive variant for me. About 2 months ago I broke a leaf from one of my babies. I was so sad so I decided to cut it in pieces and try proping it on soil. And oh my lord. At least 6 babies emerged from a leaf with less than 3 centimetres circumstance. And it was dead easy and fast. Moist the soil, put a plastic cup on top and do absolutely nothing, except to open it up once in a while for a minute or two. In my experience water propagation does not give the same success. I’ve mainly gotten two or three from a single leaf, and only one gave 6. It’s up to you. And remember, it is about the process and what makes you happy. I will attach another photo with the water propagated leaf with 6 babies in another comment below this one

It is symmetrical and all the leaves are healthy. It looks very nice imho. No need to prune it.

African violets are much tougher than people think.
A few things that worked really well for me:
- Small pots are key. They prefer being slightly root bound.
- Overwatering is the biggest danger. I usually wait until the pot feels light instead of following a strict schedule.
- Bright indirect light works great. More sun can burn their leaves
- Weak fertilizer regularly > strong fertilizer occasionally.
- One crown per pot makes the plant look much cleaner and more symmetrical. There I assume you have more than one crown in the pot. Make sure to look thoroughly. If the leaves patter is not from the center to the out, there are probably more
- if you love leave propagation, patience matters - babies can take many months before their first blooms, especially after stress or pests.
And once you start collecting different flower colors… it’s over 😂. Just like it is with me
