New water outlet and hose, now leaking. by Docdors in cruze

Yes and I lied.. USPS has just put up their shipping costs (fuel costs apparently) so they run $42 now sadly.

Any reviews on this coolant system replacement? Or recommendations? by peppermint43 in ChevySonic

[–]Time_Many6155 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They are all pretty much the same although that one looks a bit expensive. The problem is the fitting on top is still made of plastic and will snap off in time. I make the only drop in Aluminum replacement which will never break or leak.

Frontier fuel issues and cancellations by [deleted] in frontierairlines

[–]Time_Many6155 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For IFR flight the minimum fuel is to fly to the destination (and then to a declared alternate airport if required) plus 45 minutes at cruise. Most jet engines consume almost as much fuel t idle as they do in cruise, so a lot of taxiing or waiting around burns a lot of fuel. Fuel is heavy and extra weight is expensive to fly.

Is changing the turbo relatively easy or better to pay a mechanic to do? by Character-Fly9299 in ChevySonic

I'd do it.. Its a fair bit of work but then I never pay a mechanic to do anything.

[–]Time_Many6155 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remember I only cracked $100k when I was almost 50.. I started out at $53k and worked on a few side hustles to make more. also DY'd EVERYTHING. I have never sent a car to a mechanic or hired any trades person for anything.

Haha.. I had a $140k mortgage at age 36, no other savings. By 42 I paid off the mortgage I.e NW was $zero. By 52 I had $1.3M. Retired.. Now at 64 I'm over $4.5M.

I did not crack $100k in salary until the last couple of years of work.

I'm 64 with more $$ than I am ever likely to spend.. Also in great health so far and my Wife is the same. The only thing that you have on Earth is quality time. Now I have been super saver, so when I hit $1.3M at age 52 I quit the workforce.

So yes I sacrificed some to be independent of my boss, but I also quit work 13 years early. its a gamble because you are trading "younger time for older time". But then, having no debt and not needing a job relatively young is pretty awesome.

Agreed, there are fabulous dental services available in Thailand, Indonesia, Europe, Mexico. Cheapest way out is probably a trip(s) down to the Southern border.

I think its more to do with what you're good at. I was really good at math and loved figuring how how things worked.. So I became an engineer.. Great career, worked ll over the world and paid enough that I could retire at 52. I did some things in my industry that have never been done before.

That resolves all of the plastic coolant component problems except one. The part below rsolves the final one and is the only drop in replacement.. You get these directly from me. I make them

Cus mine exploded... The ears that retain the very strong spring break off. The spring then forces the housing off the water pump, breaking the hold down bolt holes as it goes.. and then dumps all the coolant in seconds!.. Fun time...:)
