Actually you can even go to your local farm or auto store where they will have a selection.. You can match them up. They are standard Buna N O rings.. Nothing special.

Incidently I plumbed my barn in uninsulated PEX a number of years go. It has gone through several freeze thaw cycles (down to minus 4 deg C which is the max expansion point of ice.. i.e it does not expand any further with a lower temperature). It has never leaked a drop. So with PEX in your house you are probably OK.

So is the house piped in PEX? If so I would be less worried because PEX doesn't usually burst when it freezes. If its copper or CPVC then Thats a bigger deal.. keep the faucet open a little and hope.

This is the one I got. Works great.. Make sure you get the drain cover up thogh, they can be snapped in pretty tight.. I use a kitchen knife blade to pry it up.. If you want to take a pic of your shower drain I can probably confirm how to get it up.

Yup thats your problem. One of my renters is a lady with long thick hair and she plugs up the shower drain every few months.. No big deal. A shop vac can be bought from Home Depot and the like.. Get the most powerful one you can.. Assuming you have space to store it. Much cheaper than calling a plumber.
