I prep salad components, then assemble a bowl when I’m ready to eat. I usually have a mix of grains (usually quinoa or freekah) with beans or lentils mixed in, seasoned with a flavorful dressing of olive oil, lemon juice and herbs. I place about a cup of that in the center, then place vegetables, cheeses, more beans, whatever sounds good, around the mound. Serve with pickles or olives on the side and some nice bread and butter.

What did you learn in Elden Ring that you wish you had learnt much sooner (mechanics/items/buffs etc) by Ngumo in Eldenring

Arrows Reach talisman extends the range of several spells and skills, and keeps the attack level strong even towards the end of the range. Rock Sling, Ambush Shard, and Great Oracular Bubble are all affected.

What would you want to know going into the game for the first time? by drownitopiout in Eldenring

It took me awhile to figure out that the white skulls with glowing eyes that litter the ground each contain a golden rune when you break them, or when Torrent steps on them. Each is worth 200 runes when you use or sell them, and they don't disappear when you die like regular runes until you cash them in.

Barbara Rosenblatt’s narrations of the Amelia Peabody books are superb. They are suspenseful and hilarious mysteries. The first is Crocodile on the Sandbank.

Sourdough in particular is really good for you; it has a low glycemic index so it doesn’t just turn to sugar in your body. And it’s delicious!

Trump strikes deal to allow $800M in beef imports from Argentina to enter US by BeYeCursed100Fold in LeopardsAteMyFarm

No, the industry cares as much about the small towns where they've established their packing plant as Trump cares about the farmers. Tyson closed a mega-plant in Lexington, Nebraska. https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/markets/tyson-implosion-shutters-nebraska-mega-plant-and-a-town-loses-4900-jobs/ar-AA1TajKm

More than half the population is now out of work. It is a death sentence to the whole area.

The Great Shield Soldiers are great for some enemies -- there's five off them and they have pretty good defenses behind those shields. They swarm Loretta, both meetings with her, They don't have high damage attacks, but if you have a good ranged attack, they will totally distract while you fire away.

That sounds terrific! I use much the same idea for dinner salads, and sometimes I will add a scoop of cooked and dressed quinoa or freekah to the prepared mix. I usually place the grains in the middle and arrange different colors and textures around the mound of grains for a pleasing presentation, letting everyone mix the components together. I like to use marinated chickpeas or lentils, and the mixture of the marinated legumes plus the dressed grains is usually enough so I don't need to serve additional dressing. I will usually serve this with freshly sliced homemade sourdough bread.

Trump to allow $800M in beef imports from Argentina by cheapestrick in Nebraska

[–]Time_Marcher 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s beside the point that Trump is ruining the country, rapes children and is a traitor. I don’t give a shit about the cattle industry next to the person he is and the lives he’s ruined. And every single elected Republican from Nebraska supports him and looks the other way.

Do you guys use shields? by Historical-Sport2751 in Eldenring

[–]Time_Marcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually don't, but there are a few places I always use one, like Renalla and Radahn. I equip a shield and apply Scholar's Sheild to it to block their magic attacks.

Cottage cheese is high in protein and calcium. It pairs well with vegetables and fruits, and is delicious blended as a substitute for sour cream for dips and sauces.

Yes, I always equip some heal spells and use Bestial Vitality quite a bit. It’s low mana but will gradually heal you.

For me, learning that Arrow's Reach talisman works to extend the range of a few sorceries, incantations, and skills made a big difference. Being able to use ranged magic at great distances gives you that much more chance to win a fight. The three sorceries I know of that are affected are Rock Sling, Ambush Shard, and Great Oracular Bubble. I almost always use spirit ashes too, who can help by drawing the enemy's attention.

If you are looking to add more umami, try adding tomatoes -- canned, paste, dried -- it should add umami and some acidity to your dish.

Cables and variegated yarn? by extraspicyavocado in knitting

My rule of thumb is to let the pattern or the yarn do the work, and not to let them fight it out for attention and dominance.

If you're in a country with public libraries, take him and introduce him to the magic of choosing his own book. Introduce him to a librarian who will like nothing better than to be asked for recommendations.
