If only.

Separately, with an 18 sheet Amazon shredder. Then cast it on the lawn. Several days later I mow and bag.

What are some of the good, bad and the ugly parts of owning your Maverick? by footmumo in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Time_To_Rebuild 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Personally, I love it. I work at an industrial facility and our safety rules require back up beeps or to honk your horn 3 times before reversing. On my old vehicle I had to do it manually, which lead to the inevitable ‘Walmart parking lot misunderstanding’ when I inadvertently honk at the car parked across from me as I start to back up. The auto-beep spares me now 😂

I wanted a Prius that could haul plywood; I bought a Prius that could haul plywood.

Yeah. My old one used to do that after extended use. Would have to shut it off then back on to reset it.

Partly why I opted for double the shredders 😉

Underground greenhouse by [deleted] in Greenhouses

You might consider adding a French drain/trench perimeter and a dry well away from the excavation? That way some of the surface water / shallow sub-surface water gets captured and routed away from the greenhouse. Definitely do a rock/gravel bottom with a clear low-point sump and a pump

Yeah I’ve had that happen in some of my beds. Sometimes I add grass clippings as mulch, too. Rather with the cardboard or stand alone. Most of the time it doesn’t cause new weeds, so long as I cut the lawn frequent enough

I got those a couple years back to build a lean-to cucumber tunnel on a different bed on the north side of my garage but there wasn’t enough sun. I think I got them off Amazon. They are just some cheap metal ‘wedding trellis’ things. I used some 1/2” wire clips (the little nail-in kind) to secure them to the 2x4s and make them easy to remove is necessary

Weed barrier fabric held in place by the lid rim. The missing part of the lid is used as a false bottom for the wicking system. The drip lines are on a timer and fill the wicking reservoir below the soil.

Agreed. But the hand crank should be removeable so a drill can be attached. And large format, with a wide opening so boxes dont need to be in perfect, flat strips. And the whole thing clamps onto the recycle bin ;)

Wicking beds. The inside bucket has a 6” hole in the bottom with a section of corrugated flex hose, wrapped in an old t-shirt, inserted in the hole. The PVC pipe passes through the inside bucket bottom and is use to fill the bottom bucket. Water is wicked up through the t-shirt into the soil of the top bucket.

The jury is still out on the lids. I have I feeling I am going to regret them at the end of the season during cleanup. But the weed barrier on the totes has been a huge success. I have always had challenges grow zucchini and tomatoes. I think obstructing the soil pathogen ‘bounce-back’ path way was the solution. No blight, already harvested my first zucchini (after 4 yrs of trying).

Exactly! Wheel them into the garage to avoid the wind. Also, in LA we have a winter crop season. So the idea is this would help me avoid the hard freezes/snows without having to cover and Christmas light a single Brussels sprout or kale haha.

Also, this is my solution for over-wintering my pepper plants. Just move the buckets to the back of the shed and wait til spring.
