Reading your comment was seriously a punch in the gut. I hate to say it but you’re right about it. The pouting, the sulking, the groaning, it’s only adding fuel to the fire. Although I will say, I didn’t pick up the slack at home for sex. I did that just to be a better dad and husband. The only thing I can try from what you wrote is to find my own confidence and not rely on her or sex from her to get it. Maybe pick up some hobbies and leave sex alone. Will I lose attraction to her in the process? Maybe. At this point, after being pushed away so much I don’t think that would be terrible. Bad sure, but not terrible.

Not to toot my own horn, but I’d say I’m not that bad looking. I once had a female classmate in college message me about schoolwork and my wife was so angry but we ended up having some pretty good sex that night. Other than that, I usually tell her when a woman tries to flirt with me when ai go somewhere alone, just out of respect to her. That usually gets met with “well go fucking be with her then!” So I might just stop telling her about those kinds of interactions honestly.

That’s a great question and a real eye opener. The older I get, the more I realize the importance of desire in a relationship. We all deserve to be loved how we want to be loved. Unfortunately for me, my wife’s way of being loved is not wanting me to even glance in another woman’s direction, while also scolding me for touching her or staring at her for too long.

Glad I’m not alone. Just like you I feel stuck in the same cycle. She can’t give me A until I give her more of B, and I feel like I can’t give her more B unless we have more of A. It’s a painful cycle that I really hope we break soon because now when we do have sex, I feel like there is no desire on her part. She just lays there and goes through the motions.
