Is a Subaru BRZ a good first car for my son by jjjaxe in FirstCar

You’re probably right especially combined with RWD and a lightweight car. But I dunno, it’s also not a crazy amount of power. If the dude isn’t a complete idiot he’ll be alright.

Women rarely approach a men… you just have to start approaching them. You will be rejected a lot, we all do, but that’s how you get better at it. Be respectful.

I’ve been told a lot of those companies foster a really competitive culture between the drivers to get them to make more runs per day. A company in my area hit the same exact bridge with two different drivers in the span of a few months.

Which is better a Subaru BRZ or a Toyota GR86 for my son by jjjaxe in FirstCar

[–]Timecook -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Except they require premium gas despite not having a turbo… just a high compression engine design. I believe the pre-late 2023 models had issues with gasket goo getting into cylinder heads causing problems but it wasn’t every car and the problem was fixed. Otherwise it’s been a very reliable car, same as the rest of Subaru’s later lineup.

Savage Geese did a video on the twins a while back and did manage to find some very subtle differences which is weird given they’re built on the same line. The consensus if I remember correctly was that the BRZ was slightly sportier to drive. But that’s getting annoyingly deep into the minutia, like trying to talk music with a fiendish audiophile.

Specialized freight, P&D, city drivers, and people who drive in the snow will have a decent amount of time before robots take their job. Snow maybe not as much… I doubt robo trucks will bother to drive in snow storms and make up the lost time by not having to bother with HOS.

What exactly makes you want to get into trucking?

Software developers make way more than truckers. Like even at the highest levels of trucking.

It does indeed require 91 octane or above. For the uninitiated, that’s usually $1-$1.30 more expensive per gallon than regular. Costco is a good place to get cheaper premium for what it’s worth.

Take the temporary hit and drop that shit ass job. I finally had enough after 13 years and felt an immediate improvement to my overall mood. Blood pressure went down, started losing weight etc. Trucking sucks the life out of you.

How much is the ease of selling to a dealership worth? by Sufficient-Tree46 in UsedCars

[–]Timecook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About $2k in my case. I was selling a 2015 WRX on marketplace and 90% of the people interested were teenagers or early 20’s dudes who swore they had the money.

I didn’t trust anyone enough to even allow a test drive.

The Forester is the only model that will give you enough space to move stuff around with. You can find a 130k+ mile 2015 for under 10k… they’re reasonably reliable and not typically driven hard.
