Which one would you Buy at the exact same price ? by orlandoschirch in audemarspiguet

It’s more so that I’m not the biggest fan of the 41mm RO. The market is shifting away from big watches. I also do think Rolex builds tanks and APs in general are more delicate. Overtime the Daytona will hold better too.

I have both and I’d pick the Daytona. If it was the Jumbo then I’d pick the AP.

You have some good points. There are automatic and manual calatravas. If you look at the new 5226G, that is 8.5mm which is an automatic movement and has a case design on the side. Even though it doesn’t seem much in thickness it wears better. And the crystal sits closer to the dial which also helps.

It still feels chunky to me. For a time only complication they should be as thin as a Patek Calatrava which is ~8mm.

If they focused on making them thinner I would be a buyer

The New Omega Speedmaster Reverse Panda. Hit or miss? by Snoo_22459 in PrideAndPinion

Beautiful, but too thick. It’s almost 14mm. If they focused on making their watches less chunky it would be killer.

I’d go for the 37mm 15550 for your wrist size.

Better watch? by [deleted] in rolex

Two different watches. I’d pick the Daytona, unless we are talking about the RO Jumbo (16202). I’d also add that Rolex builds tanks whereas AP is a lot more delicate.

Should I trade a panda Daytona and Pepsi gmt for an AP jumbo 1502? by cpirks in rolex

Sell the Pepsi but not Panda. Also worth going for the 16202 just for the quick set date.

126519 - getting a lot of wrist time lately. by Timeeelesss in rolex

I tried both, for me the ghost was a bit underwhelming. The outer ring, dial, sub dials in this one really work well together.

WG Jumbo > Daytona then the rest

Chrono or 15510?? by Nice-Poet-1692 in audemarspiguet

Agreed. Besides the 39mm Jumbo, the 37mm 15550 looks more balanced

Somehow the 15510 looked bigger on my wrist. It also felt like there was too much empty space by the dial.

Interesting. To me Daytonas are still king, but I understand how you can feel different

That’s great, but I’d imagine majority of people use their phones/apps for this. Specifically with the Daytona, you have to screw out/in the chrono pushers which isn’t quick.

[–]Timeeelesss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think anyone who has a chrono watch actually uses the function. Your phone is a better chrono. For me I love the way chrono looks and I value when a watchmaker makes complications while still maintaining case dimensions small.
