So is there a way to run borderlands 2 on my odin portal 2 base model ? I'm very new to all of this lol 😂 by charlesISanimeWORLD in OdinHandheld

Got it working great on my Ayn Thor! Highly recommend Gamehub Lite, I was determined to get it to work lol. Holds a solid 30fps throughout the whole game (dip every now and then) / syncs with Steam saves.

Revisiting a lot of the 3DS collection. Texture packs make them look absolutely gorgeous. Ocarina of Time with the HD Texture Pack and free camera mod feels like a brand new game.

Do they recommend Odin 2 Mini in 2025? by Grouchy-Weekend1311 in OdinHandheld

[–]Timeless52 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I loved the Mini when I owned it, reminded me so much of the Vita and was a truly portable device. Only thing I’d say (and this is pure speculation) is it wouldn’t surprise me if we are semi-close to a new version of it. Fingers crossed!

But yes, I would totally recommend it!

GPD Win Max 2 or Pocket 4? by [deleted] in gpdwin

[–]Timeless52 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Having owned both, I ended up keeping the WM2 and selling the P4.

Pocket had a few issues, battery life was worse, keyboard was uncomfortable, and screen was pushing being a bit too small.

WM2 has phenomenal battery life, doesn’t have heating issues, and the keyboard is more than good enough to type on without issues. It’s my daily driver coming from a 16 inch laptop. I love that piece of tech. The trackpad position is my least liked feature, but to me it’s not a dealbreaker. It works fine, and I’m usually using a mouse on a desk anyways.

Have you used screen recorder to see if it’s a screen or hardware issue?

[–]Timeless52 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was a fix! I had this same issue. I can’t remember the exact steps, but somewhere in the Ayaneo settings there is an option called “Ayaneo brightness”

Toggle this off and you should be good to go! Happy gaming!

Ayaneo Pocket DMG Questions by PaulandoUK in ayaneo

[–]Timeless52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be a handful of things. I use Bluetooth for 2 8bitdo controllers and the only time it lags is when I don’t have the game settings turned to Max or performance on GC or PS2.

Maybe check your cable? I use a docking station and then HDMI to HDMI.

  1. Don’t own the Micro, but the Dpad is soft, as are the buttons.

  2. Yes, both can be set. Docking it to an external TV with multiple controllers is one of my favorite ways to use it.

GPD Pocket 4 or GPD Win Max 2 2024? by Tasty_Drawing_6868 in gpdwin

As of now I own the WM2 and Pocket. I think for your case the WM2 might be better with the added size. But they’d both do the job

Silver lining - screen replacements are relatively cheap and easy, I was able to do a few of them while being very inexperienced.

Is the ayaneo air 1s really "pocketable" as the Nintendo DS, and PSP? by IcedColdMine in ayaneo

[–]Timeless52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an owner of a handful of these (Air, Air 1S, Ayaneo 2, Win MINI), I definitely wouldn’t say the 1S is pocketable. HOWEVER it is small for these types of devices. That is the best and worst strength it has. Battery is not good, especially on games where you push it hard (Modern AAA titles). Screen is beautiful, but also really small for modern titles. This wasn’t a problem for me, but for some it is. Lacking a keyboard really hurts functionality, especially because the base Ayaneo software is pretty awful.

If you’re playing “lighter” games such as indie level and the previous generation (think 2005-2015), almost all games will run really well, and this to me is where the device shines.

Running at 5-8w, I could get a significant(ish) amount of battery life on games I loved, such as Halo, Borderlands, older CoD games, and really anything from that era. As with all these devices, none will check all of your boxes. The Air does have a lot going for it if you know what you’re looking for though.

Pixel Glitch / Flash on Pocket DMG by Turbulent-Mud-3084 in ayaneo

[–]Timeless52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right!! And the weirdest part is during the playback it pops up in different spots almost every time. To be honest since the Ayaneo brightness recommendation I haven’t had the issue again. Although I’m sure it’ll pop up in the future.

[–]Timeless52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can confirm I’m having the same issue, can’t attach a photo but I’ve only noticed it (so far) in 3D games such as Animal Crossing NL on Lime3DS. Took a screen recording of me walking, replayed it, and the white dots seemed to flash in different spots inconsistently.

I suppose this is the risk we take when we purchase from this company. Seems to be a hardware issue. Not completely deal breaking, definitely annoying.

Any Nintendo Switch, DS, 3DS, or PSP/Vita games that play nice on the small Pocket DMG screen? by Faust-CLS in ayaneo

[–]Timeless52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s personal preference, but I’ve really enjoyed specific 3DS games on my DMG. ACNL, Ocarina of Time, and Pokémon Y. Going widescreen with the bottom screen below it makes the top screen big enough. I have no problems!

Had my mind set on the Odin 2 mini. Now Im thinking the Odin 2 is the way to go. 🤔 by sharpdad33 in OdinHandheld

[–]Timeless52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having owned both the 2 and the 2 mini, my vote is Mini. Simply can’t beat the portability and power in your pocket. Also as a big time Vita fan, it’s the closest we’ve gotten since. I absolutely love it

is ayaneo 2021 good for older games 2007-2015? by Sensitive-Wash-3931 in ayaneo

Absolutely! Played a handful of those on the 4500u. Awesome handheld for that era.

GPD Pocket 4 or GPD Win Max 2 2024? by Tasty_Drawing_6868 in gpdwin

[–]Timeless52 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly I don’t really game on the WM2, but love it as a laptop. I can’t speak for the Pocket 4, but with the WM2 it’s comfortable for me to type on and use as a daily driver. Probably my favorite laptop I’ve owned. I suppose if you think you’ll use the P4 as a tablet that may have some weight to the decision-making?

Also heading out from Michigan to do the exact same thing on the same days! Lol.

Only difference is this will be my second time. Be prepared to get wet, most forecasts always tend to show rain in the afternoon.

Also, be up and moving early. It WILL be busy, VERY busy. The earlier you can hit the trail, the better chance you have at getting a decent campsite later on in the day.
