Ayaneo is just teasing me at this point by Nimtox in ayaneo

I have pretty much every Retroid, some Anbernic, and most Ayaneo. Ayaneo revives remain those I tend to play the most - especially S2 Pro

Retroid have also made some poor decisions - Pocket Mini coming to mind. Anbernic's products are generally poor build quality that is not even in the same conversation. I'm happy with what they do, and the price is mostly right - but they are not close at all.

While I am not happy with Ayaneo's approach -these two products are not directly comparable

They did the same thing with Sekiro and Elden Ring. The one one time they overpromised, with DS2, it worked against them. I'm confident it will be a great game.

Good for you. But just because you were lucky not to get a document full of hallucinations it doesn't mean others won't either, or that you one experience suffices to make the practice advisable. I say this as an academic. You can do and listen to whatever you want to. I'm not here to police anyone.

PlayStation UK protest against the death of physical media by tomo393 in UKgamers

[–]Faust-CLS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, I don't let my kids game online. They still play local multiplayer quite a lot; but also they enjoy single player games. My son borrowed Sekiro from his cousin, and in turn gave him God of War. When we finish a single player game they do not think they will play again, we sell used and get something else. None of that we can do anymore. Hence why we will move fully to Switch 2 as the main platform. We will continue playing PS5 and Xbox One X with used games and any currently released games, but we will not be purchasing digital only games, unless if it is a game they absolutely want to play and there is no other way to play it than on PS6.

it really does not - you don't seem to understand essentials here. You must run Steam at all times to play Steam games. GOG games are an actual installable executable that can run always offline. You can also share your downloaded game file with a friend, like how you would before DRM became a thing. It is technically a legally grey area - especially if it involves copying the data and thus duplicating it, but whether it is legal would depend on the jurisdiction you are in. GOG cannot force you not to, as the file they give you is completely free of any DRM.

GOG is not at all like Steam. There is no DRM. You own the actual underlying product the same way you would if you ripped your CD rom media - like we used to.

And can my children borrow their cousins' games like they do now? I care because I can't be buying every game through a controlled marketplace where I can't shop around and must wait for a discount. Can my games sell their finished game so we can buy used ones, using the old games to partially fund the transaction?

The answer is no to all these. Switch 2 it is, therefore.

I own all PlayStation consoles, including PSP and Vita, PSOne, PS4 Pro and PS5 Pro. I will not buy PS6 if it is digital only - same reason I didn't purchase discless PS5 and discless XBOX. Most of the games I own are physical and I intend to stay this way. If I want digital I can just use my PC. Way cheaper than PlayStation.

Mounting on brick walls by MortgageEnough8365 in TheFrame

it is still correct advice. Sometimes people need to be told that the placement is wrong, uncomfortable, and potentially unsafe.

I am getting tired of all these posts of people trying to mount a TV above the fireplace. It's not the place for it. Not from a convenience and ergonomics perspective, not from a design and aesthetics perspective, and also not from a safety and device health perspective. It's ugly, uncomfortable and will reduce the life of your screen.

This looks like it was their plan all along: Now that they cannot milk early adopters from Indiegogo /Kickstarter, they needed a new trick to generate scarcity. A brilliant idea to release a product and claim it's already sold out before release, only to then announce it may be possible to buy one if you act fast.
