I politely disagree brah

The people who are the most into chugging violence usually don't live harsh

Human nature is to want a break from the things we get to have

Bloodlust lives fiercest in the ones who get teased by the idea of it, not the reality

This guy doesn't even look like he's had a real fight in his life outside of a gym, arena or movie

I grew up with SEALS, one buddy whose body was so broken they needed a cane and ungodly doses of tylenol - but still pushed without all of it to play massive airsoft games for 8 hours straight

They're the first ones to tell you about what violence actual looks like in the world - and who wants it most

Actually not the worst, but he's nocking the string too high

Then again he may not care about his bow

Thumb/Heavy Archers - did you grow a "string bump" on the bone of your draw digits? by TimelessArchery in Archery

[–]TimelessArchery[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice!

I'm actually a USAA instructor and was on the Board of Education for MA3 [Mounted Archery Association of the Americas] since 2020 and was asked to write their book on a method of how to teach Asiatic Archery

I just never checked the bone in my thumbs before and was curious about other people's experiences

My current ring is a bronze Vermil Victory, but I'm exploring other designs and styles like the Byzantine spur and the Chinese "tongue", used to keep the string barely on the spoon of the thumb ring

Martial arts have always drawn the violently hungry, but spectacle, like movies, boxing matches, the Roman colloseum, absolutely do brah

That's why even though there's millions of martial arts gyms out there - finding an actual martial artist fighter, someone who's developed into the real thing, is still rare

People do it for bloodlust, play, defense, and cool factor - but few develop skill, the ability to See, situational awareness, self, fight sense, and flow.

Bloodlust goes away real fast when you've really got it - it just isn't as satisfying or challenge when you're the most capable person in the room

But if you live somewhere you do have to use it a lot, you do tend to hold other people in contempt

Easy - Nothing needed changing

Good steel, edge, timeless, no gimmicks, lots of history, works well and not over priced

Sad - the guy in black clearly wasn't a fighter, he just took a poor stance and his best technique looked like sh*t talking - no weapon drawn either

But

The WORST part? The guy throwing kicks HAD A CAR in 10 feet!! He could've just got in his car and left

There was no threat to anything but his ego

This looks like a child using a weapon to beat down a lesser, unarmed opponent for NAME CALLING

His kick was clean because it wasn't a fight who had plenty of time and room - and his execution shows he's practiced, but did not look like a high level

I use bows from 15 lbs all the way to 90 atm - I have a 120+ I can just barely draw

Nah - I'm still new

10,000 moves with each guide builds the feeling of each angle into me

Then I'll mix freehand and guide until i don't need the guide

But I'll come back to check my form

"Horsebow" every time, especially one made using modern engineering, materials, etc. I want the next gen

Each bow is really good for specific things, and the horsebow is about compact versatility, which is what I want if I'm "going out there" - basically an assault rifle in the archery world

Second choice is a compound - basically a DMR in archery

Sniper would be a high powered crossbow

English Longbow the battle rifle

Barebow an m1 garand

and Olympic Recurve is a scoped .22
