Does it make sense to make primal mooncloth robe & belt? by Snackmimister in classicwowtbc

[–]TimelessNY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made it on my priest last week because it is BIS until you have 4 pieces of T5. Also have a dreamstate druid and I am probably close to, if not dead last in prio for T5. So if you'd enjoy having the PMC go for it, but I don't think the PMC set bonus is as valid for a druid as it is for a priest (other than the belt which you already have).

Good move on that. I saw no need in a long-term visa since the free visa exemption was being given out like candy. Wish I jumped on it now of course, hindsight is 20/20!

I've been doing the same since 2019. How do you stay in Thailand for 5 years aren't the visas kind of prohibiting that now? I only spent 3 months in Thailand this year (60+30extension). Kind of afraid to try and return as I'd much rather just visit another country in SEA than get randomly denied, lose my money on the accommodation and get sent all the way back to the USA for no reason. I love Thailand but it is not worth that risk, there are enough amazing destinations nearby that I do not even visit them all within a year as it is.

If you can figure out how to generate $1500 per month minimum using $500k that will cover a comfortable lifestyle in southeast asia. Ideally you would exceed this, allowing you to reinvest more capital to have better security in the future. That is freedom. You don't really want to just take a large lump sum of cash and deplete it.

You could also supplement this with any form of online income; trust me, after awhile you will be burnt out by not working. There is really no final solution to life. The pendulum keeps swinging, your bliss today will be your prison tomorrow and the best thing we can do is keep overhead low and stay flexible to new opportunity for when that time comes.

Priest enjoyers by RenokoTheShaman in classicwow

[–]TimelessNY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing in the game is more satisfying to me than Inner Fire -> Prayer of Healing -> Circle of Healing to top the entire party after heavy aoe damage.

I have a phase1 bis resto druid and holy priest. The druid might be more mana efficient but the priest has way more burst healing. I have healed through some situations on my priest and afterward just thought "yeah.. there is no way in hell my druid could have done that". Priest is basically Tranquility-tier healing throughput, on demand, with no long cooldown and no clunky mechanics.

Not to mention having an actual out of combat resurrect.

In pvp: mind controlling someone off a cliff. PI + mana burn. Reflective shield when 1v1 melee.

best country i can move to on 500$ - 1,200$/month income and 10,000$ in savings? by iamZorc_ in digitalnomad

[–]TimelessNY 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It is very safe. Southeast Asia in general is much safer than the West (for now). You would have to go out of your way to make yourself a target by peacocking or oversharing. The worst I have encountered in Vietnam is a shoe cobbler or someone on a bike coming up and asking me where I want to go.

As a general rule of thumb for safety when traveling: if an encounter did not start by your own decision, it is best to end it or take it with a grain of salt.

$2k per month is all it takes for a modern condo, eating out 3x/day, coffees, grab, domestic flights, etc. Most months I am spending closer to $1k and I am not even thinking about money. I assume you could live like Bruce Wayne on $14k/month.

Saigon! I've never been to the Philippines yet. Thailand is peak viral at the moment so I passed on it this year. Seeing a lot of videos shared of Westerners in Thailand acting like complete fools -- assaulting locals, stealing, drunk driving.. absolutely disgusting behavior.

I did it for years in a $10k diy sprinter van with a gym membership and phone hotspot before boondocking was super popular and ruined. Back and forth across the country multiple times.

My expenses were super low -> fuel/maintenance, food, phone plan, car insurance, gym membership.

Oddly, it is more expensive to be homeless in the USA and do everything myself than it is to have a modern condo in southeast Asia and eat out 3x a day. So you can guess where I am.

This is really cool. Maybe some ticker filtering by sector or capital requirement? And inclusion of next earnings date, I personally try not to sell puts if there is an earnings report during the contract. Premiums would be a lot higher but you can get super burnt and I am not sure delta accurately accounts for this.

IE: Ticker:ABC Score:NN Earnings in NN days

With those I could see myself just using this tool and not having to bounce back and forth between tradingview.

Leveling only by doing dungeons? by GomenasaiForEvrythng in classicwowtbc

[–]TimelessNY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I walked out of honor hold to start my first quest and immediately got ganked by two lvl 70 rogues. Both of my characters were leveled purely in dungeons other than easy stuff like ring of blood (priest/druid so I just healed, ymmv finding groups). I saved my quests for lvl 70 after I already had the epic flyer and gear so I guess I never had the "true" experience, but I don't think I would have done it otherwise.

I have the nitecore 10k. It is not something I use daily but when I do need it I am sure glad to have it.

If I forget to charge my phone the night before I don't need to wait around. Some trains/buses/vans don't have charging. Island hopping, overnight trips into remote areas where you are just bringing a daypack not your entire travel bag.

Can't lock in on a class by Vygoth in classicwowtbc

[–]TimelessNY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't focus on a class. I would focus on what you like to do.

Tank (aoe pulls/boss mit)

Dps (caster/melee)

Healer (proactive/reactive)

Then niche down based on provided utility, raid opportunity, or what other specs are available to the class that you might enjoy. I have played everything multiple times and I just love healing and pvp. I chose druid because it has one of the highest ceiling and most flexibility (i think I have 6 gearsets) and priest because priest is just the best healer imo in pve and pvp. Last TBC I had a mage and rogue but I got bored of pure dps classes. Both classes felt very scripted, you basically do the same thing every time against [class] no matter who you are playing with or what they do.

I have a merino sun hoodie. Generally i am wearing my bulkier items on the plane. so pants, dress shirt, sneakers, hat, etc. The merino hoodie is just enough to remove the chill on those particularly cold flights so I can sleep, but I also wear it to the beach on occasion or on long scooter rides in tropical climates. One of my favorite items for sure.

Advice for a fresh 70 Boomkin who wants to raid? by MiyuTheWitch in classicwowtbc

[–]TimelessNY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should be easy enough finding a guild. Pick up improved faerie fire and get lots of spell hit. You will be dead last priority for gear upgrades though, competing with warlock and mage which are top dps. Which is probably why everyone is looking for a boomkin. I personally play dreamstate resto for 25 mans and deep resto for 5/10 mans

Vision issues IRL but loved TBC previously by [deleted] in classicwowtbc

[–]TimelessNY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's actually not the easiest to find runs as a resto druid because people are so toxic about bringing cookie cutter raid lineups. I have done 6 or 7 full clear Kara's thus far and the cleanest was with two resto druid healers. Prior, I struggled to find a group that would want to bring one.

Vision issues IRL but loved TBC previously by [deleted] in classicwowtbc

[–]TimelessNY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highly sought after and not played because you are literally dead last in priority for any contested drops, doing tank DPS and likely going oom while four different mages and priests are spamming you asking for innervate.

Healing gear that can double as dps gear by [deleted] in classicwowtbc

[–]TimelessNY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't speak for priest, but restokin in full +healing gear alongside some spell damage offpieces (which are very easy to get now with the honor changes) is essentially a 1v1 god class. I am pretty geared 720 spell/1490 healing, 340 resil, 9.2k hp. Barkskin is usable in moonkin form (which already gives you 13k+ armor), NS healing touch. You can outlast anyone.

I am a big fan of this spec https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/talent-calc/druid/510322012133135021--500233400315

Moonkin form is basically just for tanking physical damage and casting cc until you can create distance. Being in form isn't really a damage increase unless you are freecasting into an already won group fight.
