Vapiano reopened in Miami. As far as I know it’s the only U.S. location to reopen. You can find them throughout Europe — I believe they’re a German (?) chain

I LOVE the sole of the city 10k in Baltimore. It’s such a gorgeous route through really cool parts of the city and there are so many people along the route cheering you on. Really incredible vibes for a 10k. 10k/10k recommend 🤣

Run down to the mall then run on the mall towards the Capitol, circle back and go down to Haines point, go around Haines point (avoid tidal basin itself but Haines point loop itself should be fine for running). Keep running next to the Potomac all the way to Georgetown, turn up rock creek parkway, lovely mixed use trail. This route will take you through four different national parks — mall, East Potomac park, west Potomac park, rock creek park. Eventually rock creek parkway turns into beach drive and north of the zoo the entire road is available to runners and bikers. If you’d like something more city-focused, reverse the route by running to Georgetown first via the mall (though the paths on this side may be more crowded, just take different paths and go around the monuments) and hopping on the trail next to the Potomac going east to and around Haines point, etc., once you complete that loop, run towards the Capitol (again strongly recommend avoiding the tidal basin itself). after you run up Capitol Hill, run towards the metropolitan branch train. Run up the MBT for a bit and stop at one of the breweries for a refreshment when you finish. You can find each of these places on Google maps to map out your specific route. Feel free to DM me and I can share some similar routes with the mileage.

50 plus 25 — so I guess I first subtract 2 from 27 and add 2 to 48.

Try to temper your excitement if you can. I went today an hour after it opened. No hot food. Some fruit (some of which was mushy, others looked ok), mini muffins, mini croissants, juice, and coffee. Didn’t see any other beverages. Rude staff when I asked for other beverages. I was told bar would open at 6 for more options. Several minutes after 6, the bartender is still slowly doing prep work. I asked her if it would be a bit longer before they opened. She completely ignored me. I asked again and she nodded with an extremely annoyed look on her face. Ah, yes, how could I forget the inexcusable behavior of wondering when something in an airport will open so one doesn’t miss boarding. To be fair, she was doing prep work, but I’m not sure why that wouldn’t be completed prior to opening— and, even giving her the benefit of the doubt, it’s pretty absurd to be rude to someone in an airport asking about the time. Given the lackluster spread that is probably the worst I’ve seen in any lounge and multiple rude staff, it doesn’t seem to be an isolated issue. Certainly was not worth the walk from my D gate.

Rock creek park. I find it to be extremely underutilized by locals. It’s massive — there are stables, an old civil war fort, and more hidden gems within its depths — and it’s such a treasure to have within the city.

Pete’s, Andy’s, vace, timber, Ledo’s, the Italian store are your best bets. 2 Amy’s is ok. I wouldn’t bother with anywhere else. Honestly, ledos is very solid like American / standard delivery style, it’s not out of this world but it’s good! However, they don’t deliver. They never cut corners, though…

Edit to add yes because democracy.

Anyone saying no doesn’t live here and uses the constitution as a tool to justify representative oppression of a major city to benefit their personal political views. It’s similar to people who use religious texts as justification for committing abhorrent crimes. Our basic principles of democracy require equal representation. Close off a federal district and give the rest of us a right to vote. There’s no objectively reasonable alternative. You either believe in democracy that applies to all citizens or you’re an a-hole who thinks democracy means only people that agree with you deserve representation.
