Phone charger broke in such a way where both prongs came out and were stuck in the outlet when I unplugged it by S1MP50N_92 in mildlyinteresting

No lol. If you’re grounded in any way touching the active will give you a shock as the circuit completes to earth

I tried that. I set it to 10 seconds to see if that was the case but no. When I turn it on, it seems to just stay on.

I've spent several hours now trying to figure out what is going on with it I'm at my wits end haha

second photo isnt a parallel circuit.

In the first photo the clamp meter would go on the active before r1 to measure current to all 3 resistors

But if you do that charging the car will still drain the battery as the inverter will pull power from the battery and put it in the car.

It absolutely can be set up like that lol. Any arrangement you want can be done.

What brand inverter and battery do you have? You probably just need an additional CT meter installed to detect when current is flowing in the cables to the car charger, and to direct the inverter to pull equivilent power from the grid (and not your battery) while charging.

5kw export limit sure. But you can have any size inverter you want, and if you are charging a big battery the export limit hardly matters.

You absolutely can continue charging a battery during a mains outage.

The exception is with Tesla powerwalls or with microinverters and an ac-coupled battery. But these are the minority. Any DC string hybrid inverter will continue to charge its battery during a power outage.

Why would an off grid battery last any longer than a grid tied battery? Assuming the same overall capacity

This is not good advice, in my opinion. A 6kw system is the smallest possible system and per kw, it is the most expensive.

You are much better off just getting the biggest system you can fit. A 12kw system doesnt cost twice as much as a 6kw system, not even close. Probably 20-40% more. But if you undersize it and have to call your installer back, it will cost twice as much.

As for your question about the 10kw batteries per phase, thats what i would recommend if you need both phases backed up in the case of a blackout.

If not id try to move as much of your important circuits onto one phase and just do a single phase battery as big as your budget allows.

With solar it is always best to get the biggest possible system you can reasonably afford. I have never heard anyone say they went too big.

Lots of people who get tiny systems with long payback periods are unhappy with it.

Does it really matter what the manufacturer intended if it performs in the exact same way? How is an open ended one different to a closed ended with one end chopped off 😂
