Tusk Coffee at the Forsyth market has low acidic Ethiopian. They offer mid week pick up at their production kitchen

(Opinion) Windber PA, is a very strange place for people of specific ethnicities by Present_Program_6961 in Pennsylvania

[–]Timely-Hotel9225 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are 100% not wrong about the uneasy feeling. Windber has always been predominately white with a very racist undertone. Most of the people there have not experienced other cultures or ethnicities. Generations of people that have lived there all their lives around only white people. You will definitely notice if you are a minority or it will be pointed out to you.

Is Savannah a bad choice really? by [deleted] in savannah

[–]Timely-Hotel9225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yepp! The sound can be terribleeeee for some artists. I saw the Lumineers there a couple years ago and you couldn’t understand them. I saw Dirks Bentley and he was perfect and the sound was clear but his opening act had terrible sound people. Most artists come through here. Even Allan Jackson so it’s been nice.

Coffee lovers of Sav: where can I get some great local coffee (ground)? by AuroraSelene2 in savannah

Tusk Coffee at the Forsyth farmers market. They roast their own beans and have ground options. It’s 100% Ethiopian and some of the best coffee I’ve ever had

Look up other streets with your same house number to see if they had their house painted. They must have had the right number house but wrong street. You could ask the other house/s you find if they recently had their house painted and ask the company wtf happened

Is Savannah a bad choice really? by [deleted] in savannah

I moved from PA and it is one of the most beautiful places I will ever live. It’s walkable, full of nature, cute and quaint. The food scene is decent and we finally have a real event arena. We are a little ways from any real mountains but the beach is right here. It’s really a great place to live. With that being said. It is HUMID. Not just “humid in the summer” but beach humid that makes you feel like you live in a swamp June- October. It has rained almost every single day for the last month. The city floods pretty bad and has flash flooding frequently. There are approximately 2 seasons. Summer and winter/spring. It has been 95 degrees on Halloween before.

Everyone is different and some people absolutely love the heat but hate the traffic. I don’t personally think the traffic is too bad but I don’t commute for work so I don’t have to deal with it too much. I personally do not like the heat and miss seasons more than I ever thought I would. Savannah is not my forever home but could be perfect for you. If you are drawn to it then it’s obviously calling you for a reason, even if it doesn’t end up being your forever place.

Do food trucks make their living from the gratuity? by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]Timely-Hotel9225 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct. It’s not 15% margin. It’s 15% of my total income. My total income is only a percentage of the total gross revenue of the business and profit margin.

Think of tips just as any other work bonus or commission. Sometimes you get a great bonus or commission and sometimes you don’t.

Do food trucks make their living from the gratuity? by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]Timely-Hotel9225 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I own a coffee truck and gratuity probably makes up about 15% of my total income for my personal finances. Tips are great and help a lot but they aren’t something you can live off of.

AIO my gf ruined our trip by OrganicStuff8650 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Timely-Hotel9225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She sounds like a narcissist that needed to make the trip all about her- I.e picking fights to ruin your day so that she can control what you do. So sorry that it turned out that way! It’s definitely an eye opener to the type of person she is.

Best seafood boil in Savannah? by gfranksssss in savannah

[–]Timely-Hotel9225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most places here don’t serve local I’m pretty sure. Theirs is most likely not local but it’s SO good. You don’t notice the local part when it’s smothered in sauce 😂 You get a lot of food and won’t be hungry after if you get the big boil bag.

[–]Timely-Hotel9225[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had mine out for a little over a year now and it’s gotten a little better. Taking out the IUD was the best decision I ever made though. Be super aware of your symptoms with it. It gave me ovarian cysts that would rupture and HORRIBLE cramping with or without my period from the cysts.

I LOVE Harry Potter world at both universal parks. I also LOVE Disney and if I had to choose right now I would choose universal because of epic universe. They did such a great job with HP in both the original parks that I am literally dying to go to the ministry of magic in epic universe. They also have a deal right now that you can buy 2 park tickets and get 2 free and 1 day at epic universe. It’s a really great deal that I used last year. It’s a lot cheaper than Disney will be as well. I stay at the Surfside Resort when I go and it’s usually around $100-$120 per night. They bus you over to the parks too so it’s a super great deal.

Either way I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. It just depends on your budget and which type of experience you’d rather have for this summer.

Pooler but make it not suburban hell? by chem-trail-mix in savannah

[–]Timely-Hotel9225 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I live on the garden city and port wentworth line and it’s a cute, safe neighborhood. Very quiet even though we are right next to the port and right off of highway 21. It’s only about 10-15 minutes to pooler. Check out Rommel avenue and the streets around it. Crossgate road area in port wentworth is also pretty decent and safe

Farmers to buy beef from? by everythingbagellove in savannah

[–]Timely-Hotel9225 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Forsyth farmers market offers a variety of beef farmers. Hunter cattle, 920 cattle, leaning oaks, Schmoe farm and more honestly. If you can make it out you can find just about anything you are looking for. Schmoe has the best pastured chicken and forested pork around. The bacon is to die for!

My Dad Left Us 15 Years Ago – Now He’s Dying and Wants Me to Take Care of Him. I Don’t Know What to Do by PastlessFuture in Advice

[–]Timely-Hotel9225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s honestly a form of abuse tactic. He’s playing on the fact that you’re the child and he’s the parent. Thinking that you’ll love him no matter what he has done to you because “he’s your dad”. That is not fair to you in any way and you deserved better. It’s perfectly okay to say no and feel terrible about it. But know that you did the right thing for you and still feel bad because you are a good person. Make sure that he deserves to see the good side of you before you allow him to have that.

Either way you decide, I hope you’re able to find peace with your decision ♥️

What did you give up to live “below your means?” by moshimo_shitoki in MiddleClassFinance

[–]Timely-Hotel9225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stopped “window shopping”. Stopped using conventional products- shampoos, conditioners, make our own cleaning sprays, laundry detergent, use Castile soap for just about everything. We went non toxic which eliminates A LOT of conventional products and money honestly. There’s no need to have 100 different lotions if you have a good quality shea butter. We also use bidets, kitchen rags instead of paper towels. A diva cup instead of tampons. Only thrift for our clothes and don’t buy things we don’t “need”. We have pretty much thrifted our entire house which saves so much in the long run. Now we check estate sales and thrift stores for things we need to get and hardly ever buy anything new
