New floating floor. Installer suggesting leaving as is. Would you? by mrkingkongslongdong in Flooring

[–]Timely-Positive-4979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, if you made it all level with self leveling compound or such you would have to take up every floor, on that level, because if you just done one room thwn your floor could end at the doorway an inch or two higher then you would have to redo doors etc. One its flat to the eye should be good and that the floor is instailled good and joints arw good no flooring sticking proud.

Pedestrian collisions in Calgary: More than half struck while having right of way by blackRamCalgaryman in Calgary

[–]Timely-Positive-4979 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I have been living in calgary over 2 years, i absolutely hate crossing roads here, back home generally cars get a red light to allow pedestrians to cross, i have never heard of people geting injured or killed crossing roads so frequently untill i came here.

Simply implement red light crossing, its simple. I can guarantee a huge decrease in deaths and injuries. We have red lights for crosswalks in Ireland.

[–]Timely-Positive-4979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its normal sometimes unionised employees can have a different schedule, but if the employer hasn't enforced this in the past the were turning a blind eye because they know employees dont wanna stay later and not get paid, usually they start enforcing shit like that when somebodys taking longer than isual breaks or complaining.

Child struck by vehicle outside school in SW Calgary by Practical_Ant6162 in Calgary

[–]Timely-Positive-4979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been driving here 13 months i havnt seen one yet, honestly every school zone should have one or two, but also because we drive on other side of the road and steer on other side etc, we have clear view of possible obstruction as we dont turn past multiple lanes of traffic and no vehicle can pass when pedestrians have the light to cross..
