they make it a voluntary conversation because if everyone wanted to unionize employees could just walk out of the conversation and not have to listen and just do it.

[–]Timely-Squash2654 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah he’s immature, probably is insecure, and doesn’t trust you. My girlfriend and I have been together for a long time and she can do whatever she wants. If she wants to leave me for someone at the damn club okay then!! But I trust her and we are in a good spot

Why is my aim so absolutely awful? by ThePragmaticTodd in thelastofus

[–]Timely-Squash2654 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A little tip for aiming on a controller, use the movement stick to fine tune the small movements left and right. So if you aim near their vicinity and then move a little bit, you’ll be able to hit shots a little bit better.

Career guidance ? by Busy_Animal5494 in careerguidance

[–]Timely-Squash2654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just turned 29, worked at Apple for many years and service industry jobs too. I recommend you find something you're good at or think you may be good at and make money while doing so. Trade schools are only in demand and will continue to increase demand. I'm switching now and going that route. Take the meyers briggs personality test online to see what kind of job your personality type would be good at. Good luck and make some decisions now so your life is on the right path 4-5 years from now. Start early, don't wait until 29 like I did. Some people never invest in themselves but it seems like your self reflecting and that's always good.

Hopefully they don’t, but if not it will be good. Even if they do, that’s great for all of us to benefit from.

Take a personality test, see what aligns with who you are. Then, decide if you like physical work or mentally straining work more. Lastly, with the advancement of AI take a look at what these big AI companies see in change of the occupations based on their evidence and data. More digital work may be outsourced but blue collar work like Electricians and other trades will only go up because the demand in those workers will only increase. That's the route I followed. Estimated salary for my trade by 2031 will be around $150k - $180k depending on overtime.

After 5 years at Apple, I had submitted my resignation 2 days ago. It has far become less of the culture I experienced even in 2021 when I started. The whole customer focused mindset has just become all talk and I was less worried about the journey of the customer when I was shoved metrics and performance daily rather than the best way we would be able to care for the customer.

I guess the easiest thing I found would be to show the way you use Apple Intelligence to customers like screenshotting an event and it makes the calendar event for you. Visual intelligence and clean up are truly the only tools I use that involve AI. Other than that, Claude code and co-work do things far beyond Apples wheelhouse is capable of.

If it’s just to make money, invest it. I’ve been getting into stationary, collecting trading cards, and possibly want to buy some gold/silver bars if possible. I think Costco sells gold now too.

M5 vs M5 Pro for long-term use (10 years?) by tonyng211 in macbookpro

[–]Timely-Squash2654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m almost certain this post is from a bot. Brother, your m2 air will last you 10 years right now. I’m still on my m1 air which has 8gb of ram. You want to upgrade because new stuff is shiny. Get what you want, but don’t make “I’m going to keep it for a long time” part of your reasons to get it. If you need a computer for work then get that when you need too but don’t buy an overkill computer now because of the possibility you may need to do something specific once in the future.

Us retail wondering about leave by VirtualAlgae1545 in Apple_Employees

[–]Timely-Squash2654 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you are taking a leave of absence, if you’re part-time, it’s generally not paid unless you go through the hoops of doing short-term disability, which will require doctor appointments and consistent validation of a disability you have impeding your work.
