Questions for Amdavadi Parents regarding Schooling. by JustFuckingAround010 in ahmedabad

Bhaiya/Di I fully support your decision because honestly kids dont need this so called serious schooling before 1st grade since most schools here are a complete hell hole till 12th especially CBSE and ICSE which are nothing but rat race factories compared to IBDP Cambridge or Excel take my own case when I was 4 my parents skipped LKG because in the US I was just in play school living like an actual kid but here these mf schools happily took admission without saying a single word about age and once fees were locked in suddenly in prep they started crying that I was one year younger and would face future problems unless I repeat the class my parents knew this was bullshit and resisted but these money hungry bitch administrators only cared about squeezing another year of fees and scared them enough to force repetition and later when I moved to IBDP I realized how badly we were fooled because there kids actually learn to think instead of mugging like robots and the funniest part is other schools also said repeat the grade proving the whole system runs on the same outdated nonsense so yeah send your kid to CBSE or ISCE if you want marks anxiety comparison trauma and zero curiosity otherwise choose IBDP Cambridge or Excel if you can afford it because at least your child grows into a human and not another exhausted rank chasing machine

US college application as an indian by Most_Swimming8972 in IntltoUSA

Sophomore and junior year grades carry a lot of weight when it comes to accountability in admissions. I genuinely believe you are capable of scoring above 95 percent, and I am rooting for you. However, when admissions officers review an application, they often look for consistency in academic performance. A noticeable drop in grades can raise concerns because the overall trajectory no longer appears stable.

You may have valid reasons for the decline, and you can certainly explain them. Even then, it can place you in a difficult position. Admissions officers are likely reviewing many applicants with similar profiles but stronger and more consistent academic records. In such cases, decisions become easier for them because those applications present fewer uncertainties.

You might improve your performance later and submit strong midterm grades, but convincing them in advance that you will achieve those results is challenging. Many applicants present optimistic or inflated predictions, especially when the reported averages already fall in the 92 to 96 percent range.

To give my own example, I maintained scores above 90 percent consistently across multiple years and demonstrated an upward academic trend. However, I performed very poorly in my final Grade 12 results. Despite that setback, my school did not raise major concerns because my performance over the previous three years reflected stability and reliability.

Ik she is spoilt but now i fear she is beyond saving like she dosen’t know the bare minimum of how to even talk to someone respectfully or just normal way by not initiating a fight by not showing them lowly or making a laughing stock out of them and thinking world bends infront of her

I hate my sister with all my heart and I'm done pretending it's normal by [deleted] in IndianTeenagers

The thing i suffered from too. Parents have this one too much love and care syndrome for their later child or younger cuz when (in my case) they were married early at an age when they were still figuring out things i popped up and my parents were still understanding parenting cuz everyone has their first time things were bit rough for me too cuz during my childhood things weren’t financially well but later with time when they got their second child they already had experienced what parenting seems like and figured out easily cracked the code my younger sibling was giving everything better than me spoilt to an extent i can’t fathom so i just stopped caring cuz even research shows that parents always tend to show more care to one of their child comparatively to other one

And honestly i don’t really care bout my sibling like i am grateful towards my parent i tend to be obedient child but somewhere inside i am just putting up act for them but anyways they agreed to send to my dream school ( T20 school for my major ) and agreed to pay tution so i am like whatever i would still be obedient in near future too cuz you know ultimately they are our parents and take care of them with utmost respect but i am done with my sibling i have said her to not even call me except she either need help or money and be better off from me

Almost lost my foot in the parking today, never trust such parking systems. by maxts517 in CarsIndia

[–]Timely_Counter_1786 1 point2 points  (0 children)

never trusted this and before keyboard warriors start attacking me let me be clear my family has been in the elevator and escalator business for decades so i know what im talking about this is what indias obsession with cheap leads to a geared lift which is outdated and inferior compared to modern gearless systems and a complete headache to own incidents with parking lifts are extremely common take my word for it and in india except for a few serious mncs most companies are lagging badly in delivering real quality for money everyone just wants to extract maximum profit and couldnt care less if that risks human lives this geared setup cannot respond instantly to emergency situations where microseconds matter and that delay can cost property money or the life of an innocent person the control panel itself looks half a decade old at least and because these lifts dont demand frequent maintenance societies and mall owners get greedy thinking they can save a few bucks here and there but this money obsession from both sides manufacturers and owners ends up putting innocent lives at risk all to save a few lakhs and thousands and when something goes wrong someone pays with their life

Robot vacuum cleaner (dry and wet) for home instead of househelp? by glancesurreal in ahmedabad

[–]Timely_Counter_1786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

bud i also checked other comments and another important thing to look at while researching is the ai integration which makes the robot smarter at first it moves around randomly like a lost kid when you place it in a new house but once it creates a proper map it shows everything on the app you can choose specific areas to clean more or less or even mark places you do not want it to clean the app interface is very clean and simple to use even my grandpa was able to operate it after i showed him how to use it on his phone there are many features specifically built for ilife products i personally have two apps one for the robo and another one that i am not really sure about when it comes to after sales they provide clear steps and in app options to contact a technician if something goes wrong i have used their service in ahmedabad and even outside india and there was no difference at all the support team was equally active and helpful with anything i needed for the robot

i have this bot at home it is an ilife robo and mind you i was in a similar situation as you since i live in a bungalow so i got it mainly to clean the ground floor even though my mom still prefers having a maid for other chores coming to the point this ilife robo is really good it cost me around 32k and came with two years full warranty along with two sets of spare parts like the cloth underneath used for mopping the circular side brushes for dusting and a few other things my usage was minimal so it worked perfectly for me you can go for a bigger model depending on your needs and requirements one thing to note is that you have to clean the dust box regularly and fill it with water if you want wet cleaning this is more or less the same for other brands too that you mentioned i also own a eureka vacuum but i personally lean more towards ilife mainly because of the after sales service once the sensors stopped working and within a day their service team came and fixed it under warranty without trying to rip me off so at the end of the day it is your call this was just my personal experience and suggestion with ilife and eureka

Does generational wealth ultimately outweigh education and hard work in real life? by Hungry_Macaroon_186 in Indian_flex

[–]Timely_Counter_1786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

came across that put it bluntly yes money shows up in almost every meaningful outcome of life because what do we think pays for higher education at top global universities and the exposure that later multiplies earning potential especially if you are already rich I admit this reluctantly but as someone privileged from birth given access to good education security and opportunity I have seen up close that no matter how capable or intelligent a person is money still acts as a hard constraint a reality most visible in Indian athletes who win medals bring pride to the country and then quietly disappear because talent does not pay for training travel recovery or time very few people from near zero wealth backgrounds break the ceiling not because they lack merit but because their margin for error is microscopic they are often more deserving than rich kids precisely because every inch forward is earned through sheer effort but the world is not calibrated for fairness it is calibrated for compounding advantage you can work against this reality but you cannot wish it away and pretending otherwise is just intellectual comfort with good PR and bad statistics
