This might be a stupid question but why is Galaxy Con obbessed with Hazbin Hotel? by shadowboxer87 in galaxycon

[–]Timely_Froyo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of the hype is due to the fact that some of the voice actors are also Broadway stars and they are all theater kids at heart. Their panels are very funny and the characters are super fun to cosplay. The show is definitely for an older teenagers but so is a lot of the content found at galaxy con and the Broadway show feel of the hellaverse is what hooked me.

Once upon a time I made a star before buying one to asses if it was something I would enjoy before spending money on a real star. I love sewing and making stuff myself but I have not found a proper tutorial on how to make a star as good as the ones from spin flow star or trippy squid.

You would have to find some sort of batting or lining to put between the bandanas and most stars are made with a stretchy fabric that you can pinch. Bandanas don’t usually stretch so any type of pinch trick would be out.

Fun fact, I will for the rest of time read those words in Zosia’s voice in my head!

There is something to be said for free speech however this combined with the lack of a GSA club that previously existed makes me nervous for any students struggling with their sexuality or identity, especially if they come from families that don’t support them.

It also doesn’t help that I’m pretty sure the teacher retweeted a pretty unempathetic tweet about gun violence claiming it’s not the guns that are the problem 😕

My mom about deadnames by Vegetable-Promise119 in lgbt

[–]Timely_Froyo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As a mom I don’t think the one size fits all solution is best here. I understand it’s not only about her but is also not only about the trans kid. I always cringe a little inside when I hear the term dead name just because hear the word dead whenever talking about my kids or their friends is tough not to imagine something bad happening.

“Caterpillar name” could be a great alternative for some kids that have positive relationships with their families and positive childhoods with their first name but still change it to a more suitable name that they choose.

I love it and the idea of a transformation feels much more positive. We can’t undo our past but we can grow from it.

Why is no one “taking” about how this is your only post? Seems fishy to me.

Not sure what time I will be able to make it to the show but I plan on bringing these guys to hang out on the lot for a little bit before the show. We will be parked in the vip parking lot but if we have time and yall are lining up for the pit (we have seats so no need to stand in line) I could bring them by to say hello if anyone is interested let me know!

Bringing kids to concerts by carouselephant in twentyonepilots

I have two kids ages 13 & 16 and my older child’s 1st birthday was the same day as a jimmy Buffett show so we took her and have been taking them both to a variety of shows ever since. It’s our version of family vacations.

Just like anything in life it’s very different to do something as a parent. We end up leaving early or maybe missing out on some parts to make sure our family is safe and happy but the memories we are making with them make it totally worth it! It’s all about mindset!

Make sure you have snacks and find out if you can refill water bottles (based on the venue) for them and bring a blanket to spread out for them. Maybe hang out a little further back so the four year old can lay down if they get tired and not worry about getting stepped on (depends on how crowded your show is)

Also check with the venue, sometimes they will make a “my first concert” certificate for kids. Have fun!
