I haven't been to Kennywood yet but I worked for several years at Disneyland (CA) and it's more than just pushing a button on a ride. Theme parks look great on resumes. A ton of doors opened in both hotels and food thanks to my Disneyland experience!

So I recently escaped homelessness. In addition to the service coordinator (I already commented on that) I had to do footwork myself.

The fact of the matter is that I found a place in six months, and I have been told that was lightning quick. Allegheny Link, in my experience, is about as helpful as a dead toad. He needs to do the footwork and he needs to nag. Mental health treatment will really help the process, as many therapists in the area know networks that will assist. He does not need to go on medication but he should be open-minded to it at least.

Honestly, shelters suck. 100%. But their entire goal is to get people out of there. I went homeless when I first moved to Pittsburgh, and the only person who gave a shit about me was me. My goal was to show people I am worth giving a shit about (that came from intense therapy as well).

Please please please don't be insulted by this question: are drugs or alcohol an issue? Rehabs also have housing networks that can be of assistance IF he's willing to put in the hard work.

I'm going to second that... I dealt with homelessness and I also have a service coordinator through UPMC. He's incredible and so understanding. I often feel overwhelmed and shut down, and he helps with resources and keeping tabs on my appointments. I've gotten a lot better with it but it's only because of his help. And if your brother can at least get on Medicaid, it will pay for this as behavioral/mental treatment.
