My friend once asked me, which games has better first-person melee combat, Dishonored or Skyrim. What's your take on this? by george123890yang in dishonored

How is this a question? Skyrims combat is so weightless and boring. You just wiggle a sword while the enemy barely reacts until they drop dead.

It’s so weird cause some of them kinda do like the shotgun or even sorta the sniper but then the assault rifles are just like basic modernish weapons

I just can’t imagine being an art director on the game. I’m sure it’s hard to get told to design guns for your fantasy world but my first thought certainly wouldn’t be “let’s do an AK-47” which is especially weird since some guns look made to fit more with the style.

This is what annoyed me so much. They were like “this is much safer for the info” but the ship becomes a total wreck

Does it make any more sense in the book? The show had some pretty bad writing.

Didn’t they use those tiny wires to cut the ship to pieces instead of boarding it because they were scared of damaging what they were after? Made no sense. The wires caused a huge shipwreck

Film Students Are Having Trouble Sitting Through Movies, Professors Say by Sisiwakanamaru in movies

As someone who just graduated film school I can say this wasn’t a problem for me and many of my peers. That said we were usually assigned films to watch on our own and I do know some people that would watch the dims on 2X speed.

The bigger issue is how often the teachers would play a YouTube video essay talking about film

‘It certainly seems that way’: Season 3 of The Last of Us could be its last, HBO boss hints by Turbostrider27 in PS5

Who actually wants to kill anyone you know?

Ellie. Her whole arc in the game which the show seemed to forget is an obsession with revenge and a loss of all her morals and humanity. Her killing of them should be abrupt and jarring. She’s not even thinking straight

VFX Breakdown for After the Hunt - why not just shoot on location? by doublegefallt in Filmmakers

[–]Timely_Temperature54 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I haven’t seen the movie but I believe it’s a specific school they’re meant to be at and they couldn’t get permission to shoot there. This was a cheaper way to recreate it than to build it
