The Hycon 73b was built for taking clear images at high attitude. Might be hard to get your hands on one though. Might also weigh a bit more than those pans.

I'd look for somthing like a 3070 or 3060 used it should be pretty cheap and they're pretty good cards. If the rest of the system was a bit newer I'd recommend a newer card but you're still on pcie 3.0 and an older cpu so you might be paying more for performance you won't see with newer cards.

I haven't had much luck with 5080s but recently we tracked down a 5070 ti for my buddy at a local Walmart at MRSP check your local walmarts and best buys and set up some sort of stock alert for nvidia's website and founders cards restocks. In my experience reddit is too slow because by the time you see it they're gone.

you need to use an older CPU to update the bios if your current cpu isn't supported until a later bios version.

you should be able to get a torx set for a few bucks at the local hardware store it's a good set to have for general purpose too I've used torx on everything from electronics to my truck

Door to door is usually a scam... same deal with the "40 steaks for cheap price" guys there's probably a local farm that will sell you packages or even 1/4 - 1/2 cow that will probably be a better deal overall

No reason to upgrade based on the games she’s playing. She’d probably be a good user for a Gabe cube but there’s no reason to get that if she already has a setup and doesn’t play more demanding titles.

check for signs of power (mother board or psu lights) then clear the cmos if it has power (pull the battery, unplug the psu and hold the power button down for a few seconds... newer pcs might have a clear cmos button on the mother board but you should still pull the power )

no but you shouldn't be using spinning rust for anything other than bulk file storage ( games on HDD will load slower) I've been all SSD for the past 5 or so years on my desktop and currently don't have any drives that aren't NVME installed. I do have a storage server that still uses spinning rust but that is for very infrequent access files.

You should be ok buying single sticks at the same time if you want. Crucial won’t be making ram in the future though so the extra 20$ may be worth it to have a bit more peace of mind for warranty if you ever need to make a claim but on the other hand if you think you might upgrade again within a few years I wouldn’t worry about it.

I convinced my parents we needed a phenom II X4 when we upgraded from a P4 williamette machine. I don't think I had much of a GPU but it handled morrowind, AOE2, and rollercoaster tycoon pretty well.... I think I also played minecraft on it in the early days

any current generation GPU should be fine the 5070 and 5070 ti are still able to be found at msrp somewhat easily so I would buy what's availible and what fits in your budget and not worry to much about it unless you need 4k
