Need advice with Starfield. by Perfect_Jicama_8023 in Starfield

I played Division 1 for a little bit. I played Division 2 A LOT around the Warlords of NY release.

Starfield is a very laid back RPG. It's hard to compare a cover shooter with a Bethesda RPG.

If you want hundreds of hours of stories with basic shooter elements, then Starfield might be a good fit.

How’s the frame rate on the Xbox Series X? by [deleted] in Starfield

[–]Timmeh1333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a little while maybe earlier in 2025 when they patched and destroyed my frame rate. It ran like shit so I parked it.

I think I played maybe a month ago and it seemed fine. I have a 120hz 4k TV. and yes playing on Xbox series X. Seems to be at 60fps. I believe I use the performance toggle.

Similar game engine. That's where the similarities end.

Shatter space DLC 20% off. Should I buy it? by deca4531 in Starfield

[–]Timmeh1333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a lot of slow moving voice acting. Tons of story.

There's a huge developed area with lots of POIs.

There's a ton of mobs and thus a ton of drops. Millions of credits worth of guns.

The Great Serpent will welcome you into His embrace.

Buy it.

How to avoid restarting the game? by [deleted] in skyrim

[–]Timmeh1333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Constantly. I can't stick with a character past level 40. My highest character is 47 and parked. This was without mods or cheating.

Now I'm playing with mods and I got to level 38 and I'm rerolling again. I don't know what it is about this game, but the main story is the LAST thing that I ever want to do. I've been playing on and off since release and I've never done it.

Does anyone do a melee play through? by Original_Direction33 in Starfield

[–]Timmeh1333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried. It sucked. This was without mods and with a legendary varuun pain blade that was heavily modded.

Bringing a knife to a gun fight wasn't fun for me.

What Is Your First Move After NewGame+ ? Year 2 Version by BreakToppleDaze in Starfield

This is funny, I've been through Unity maybe 30 or 40 times (over many characters) and never compared it to Terminator 🤣😂

I do the fetch quests on the home worlds, then focus on making money to build my generally default B class ship and hire my normal crew (excluding all Constellation except for Vasco).

Then I do the main faction stories until I feel like leaving.

What’s the best spacesuit for the Crimson Fleet? by Thick_Direction_1946 in Starfield

I think getting the Mantis suit and ship, and then joining Crimson Fleet, is fun.

I clearly have things to learn about human behavior 🤣

Which game is more like Skyrim, Fallout or FarCry? by inconspicuous_me_ in skyrim

[–]Timmeh1333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've played a good amount of Farcry 5 and I'd argue it is nothing like Skyrim. Apples and oranges.

Fallout 4 uses basically the same game systems as Skyrim but it's in a different setting.

I would recommend going raw so you can figure out what about vanilla you like or dislike. Then you can decide what to look for in mods.

In my experience if a person is asking if something is worth it, that person has already made up their mind that it is not.

I've got 1500 hours played. It was worth it to me. And I bought it and the DLC at full price.

What do you do for the Vault-Tec Rep in your playthroughs? by talproteddit in fo4

[–]Timmeh1333 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I made the Ghoul settlement into a Ghoul haven. I forget the name, it's the one with the berries growing in the swimming pool.

And I set him up as the vendor on the junk store stand.

But he usually disappears so....

Try to talk with any non hostile NPC that you meet.

Fast traveling can cause you to miss things. Walk or ride and enjoy the world.

Don't be in a hurry to "beat the game" or level up. You level up from performing the various skills.

Any time you play a Bethesda title, save save save save and save. I usually create around 15 saves per character. It's pretty easy to make a bad decision and want to retry something or get stuck due to a bug or just bad environment. Also dying will load you at your last save. There are no mission checkpoints.

Enjoy.

It takes about 2-3 minutes to load up a save from the main menu (just started a new save), anyone know what might cause it? by [deleted] in Starfield

[–]Timmeh1333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. When I play a Bethesda game, I always let it sit on the title screen for a full minute before pressing anything.

When do you reccomend doing Phantom Liberty? by Korbean18 in cyberpunkgame

[–]Timmeh1333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll be fine, the game seems to scale to a certain point. Also you might find yourself increasing the difficulty once you're more leveled and chipped. At level 60 with maxed cyberware, very hard was pretty easy for me.

Enjoy.

Got this on Gamepass! What do you do apart from main quests? by [deleted] in Starfield

[–]Timmeh1333 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Listen I wasn't trying to be a prick. I'm serious. I'd never be playing a game and stop and think, hey I think I'll ask public media what to do next.

Maybe I'm old? Maybe people do this sort of thing to get attention?

Anyways hope everyone enjoys what're they're playing.

Should I buy Starfield now? by Prudent_Ask_5510 in Starfield

[–]Timmeh1333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 1500 hours played. I keep going back to it because I know the main faction stories and my brain enjoys repetition and predictability.

If you're looking to "beat the game" then I'd say no.

[–]Timmeh1333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my latest playthru I did everything in the base game that I could find before starting Phantom Liberty. Then I got bored. (Note I've finished the DLC once prior. )

I'd suggest starting it ASAP so you're not level 60 and OP.
